I never really cared for the part in Extra Loveable where he goes "I'm sorry, but I'm just gonna have to rape you"....I never thought that was cool..at all.

Prodigalfan there are many "medical" references along with facts from the Food & Drug Administration already listed above.
Pharmaceutical Companies are strong backers of the Medical Profession and would have no reason to want to stifle sales of birth control pills. I'm sorry if it sounds harsh and unrealistic.
Ultimately, it is a personal decision to choose which information to believe.

this is the most important issue facing america
we need to all come together and speak our voice and vote

Prince should be his most political right now
as he has always talked about war.
when the wrong people are in office it is are duty as american
to exxpress our vote and let the world know that the american people
are not behind reckless leaders hijacking our country
just as the nazi"s in the 1930

I was going to say the SAME thing. Prince has stated his opposition to the war and the fact that Dumbya encouraged people to go shopping after 911. The "don't vote" mantra is because he's a JW...

JW believe the GOV are workers of the Devil. They make exceptions for JW that work in the Post Office, example. But Prince would be going against his religion if he actually endorsed a candidate.

I think, unless you're retarded, you can figure out which candidate Prince would vote for. Here's a hint: it ain't Bush.

Personally, if you have any integrity, you'll be voting for Nader or another third party candidate you believe in. Kerry is bad. Bush is horrible, rotten and scary. Why vote for either?

I think that if P DID could, he'd vote Indepedent. My perception of P is that he's always had an independent mind. Also, he's from Minnesota where politically independent minds are born and bred.

and bought a slice of pizza one block away from ground zero

I did this as an american.
i oppose the war in iraq, and for this president to say i am unamerican
to oppose this war is crazy

"how many of you know how God wants to be worshipped"?

That statement makes me laugh my ass off. Like only he and the JW's know the answer rolleyes What a ridiculous and arrogant statement.

I agree Funny. Although Eye Hate U is penned better, because its not so straight foward unlike Extra Loveable I think theres definitely the idea of rape in that song:
'Close your eyes
I'm gonna cover your ass with this sheet
And I want U 2 pump your hips like U used 2
And, baby, U better stay on the beat
Did U do 2 your other man the same things that U did 2 me?
Right now I hate U so much I wanna make love until U see
That it's killin' me, baby, 2 be without U
Cuz all I ever wanted 2 do was 2 be with U ... ow!'
I mean from that it seems to me that he doesn't care whether she wants him to do that or not. It seems like love in desperation taken to the extreme and certainly when i think about it, i think that Eye Hate U certainly has its dark coating.

That particular part of that song seems to me like a betrayed man desperate to make someone love him back, or go back to the way things used to be with a lover. The line before that is "I want it 2 be so good she falls back in love with me." I don't really see it as a statment of rape. music

Me neither. I am a woman and I've loved a man who didn't love me back, and in fact, cheated on me. Hasn't anyone loved so one so much that it hurts when he/she is unfaithful and in desperation, you hated them so much for hurting you that you wished they were dead...

But then there's a conflict of emotions. You love them, but you hate what they did so much that you hate THEM. You are frustrated at the fact that you gave your all to the relationship. I think this is a brilliant song. I've always liked it because when Prince is writhing in pain from a lost love, you really feel pain for him.

I'd contrast this song with "Man O' War," where he seems to reconcile the pain and hurt that he feels for a woman who has betrayed him. He seems more self-confident and ready to move on. In some kind of weird way, the song is not as somber as one would think on first listen...

i have been thinking about that verse lately
it seemed to me that he was brushing what had happened under the carpet
and to maybe try to forgive and forget. But it seems now as though he brings things like that up quite abit now, references in Dear Mr Man,When will we be paid, family name.
Which leads me to the lyric that i find completely unnesecary "Holocaust aside, many lived and died but when all truth is told, would you rather be dead or be sold"Now im not saying that slavery wasnt as bad as millions of Jews being killed but to even try and compare the two doesnt seem too fair.

Do you know how many Black people were killed during the slave trade?

The number often quoted is 150 million (over 1/2 of the current U.S. population), mainly during the Middle Passage. The fact that that number is often glossed over is the saddest. I wish people would stop comparing atrocities of slavery and the Holocast... mad

Age of consent actually varies from state-to-state.

I think it'w wierd though whether it's legal or not.
How could 16 year old hoochie momma like Mayte be an intellectual equal to a 33 year old man? She can't--it's impossible. She can be a mature 16 year old for her age, I will concede; however, this does not make it anymore appropriate a matchup. It's plain grose.

Different times U know? My grandmother was married with 1 child by the time she was 15. That was in 1915 (born 1900). Perhaps the time will come when a 16 year old girl will be able to make up her own mind without her parents consent. I find it interesting that a 16 year old girl can have intercourse with a 18 year old boy but not a 33 year old man, who will probably treat her better and be more sensitive to her endeavor in the beginnings of sex.

I can only speak on GA Law, but a 16 y.o. can consent to sex whether the man/woman is 18 or 33. The law is not dependent on the age of the sexual partner. If a 20 y.o. or a 40 y.o. has sex with a child under the age of 15, he/she will get the same punishment of the law.
Our past has made us into who we will be in the future.

I don't know about that. I grew up in a non JW church and it's a common question/saying-for those who go to church.

Actually, back when that song was originally released, the legal drinking age was 18 (maybe 19)

Two blatant ones come to mind:

Extraloveable:

'I think I am gonna rape you now.

Are you gonna get in the tub, or do I have to drag you.

Don't make me drag you. I can be very cruel.'

hmph!

Horny Toad:

'I wanna rub your body, until you start to bleed.' ick
