No long encores in Musicology Not to sound to pissy, but it didn't seem like the encores in the Musicology tour were very long. The only other time I have seen Prince was 2001's Hit-n-Run, and he came out SIX times. I know he's a mercurial sort of creature, and one night will play six encores, the next night one. I guess I just miss it is all.
On the other hand, the show (and the whole concert tour, really) was perhaps Prince's most accessible US Tour since Purple Rain, if not ever. Looking at the places that were played and the set list, which comprised major and minor hits, as well as one or two miscellaneous thangs (the Ray Charles tribute, and Prince And the Band, it's clear he wanted to make for every chance possible, for the fans, and even for himself and his band. Sweet tour that is Musicology. I CAN NOT WAIT to see what the tour AFTER this will be. Cuz see, even though he's not playing his hits again, there's still plenty of other songs, and I do mean PLENTY, that we know and love. Like Free fro 1999, or Paisley Park, from ATWIAD, that could really make for a funky, rocking show. Bring it on, best-musician-in-the-world, Prince. Can't wait to see what you hit us with next! | |
