Right now I'm diggin' 6...FUNKY!

If Computer Blue could be considered instrumental, then that gets my vote.

Also, LOVE ARBORETUM, from the piano ONA.

What's your fave???

There's a good one on The Chocolate Invasion. If I bothered to write down song names on CDs I download, I could tell you what it's called.

I so lazy!

God -- the long instrumental version was never released, i don't think

Wrong. The instrumental was released on the Purple Rain U.K. 12 inch single. It is also pretty well available on soulseek.

Anyway, Alexa De Paris is my pick.
Keep your headphones on.

Im not a big fan of his 90's output, but i really like the b-side instumentals on the Cream extended single.
I lost the tape, but I think the were called "get some solo"Q in doubt" and another one i forget the name.
I agree 100% with you guys choices

Alexa's #1 but...
what about the "outro" to Rainbow Children, the little 3 minute "musical interlude" right before Muse.. I can spin that one for hours, days, years non stop.

And a shot out to the I Hate U Eric Leeds mix

Gotta be

1. God instrumental
2. Osaka
3. Alexa de Paris

Best instrumental album - the 'Xpectation' trax plus the 'C-NOTE' instrumentals together on one CD.

I call it 'Xpedition' and open up with 'Tokyo' (into the rain), then 'Xpectation', then the rest b4 closing with 'Xpedition' and 'Osaka' (out of the rain - Tokyo/Osaka bookend it nicely).

I don't care what you call it - jazz, rock, jazz-rock-funk, lounge jazz or Tuvan Troat Singing, imo surely anybody with ears knows this is a classic Prince album/ compilation.
Blissful beauty.
