All those f*ckin' glamour shows (indeed, including SOTT and Lovesexy) are no artistical statements, they're just over the top (and very little room for improvisation ....) Musicology might be a step in the good direction, but that's it.

Dirty Mind / Controversy / Parade : that's the real Prince to me ... no glamour show ... improvisation .... MUSIC!!

Best: Lovesexy, Purple Rain, Sign O the Times, Musicology, Hit n Run (saw that one in a larger facility than the average and the vibe was awesome).

Worst: Nude Tour, Jam of the Year.

*note* I am admittedly biased because I love Prince shows where he is dancing, doing the splits, changing outfits, rising to the ceiling on platforms while playig guitar, flowers falling from the sky, etc. Basically some of the spectacles he has put on. Which leads me to my bewilderment of why One Night Alone is considered his best tour ever by so many people. It was a very enjoyable show but a tad bit overrated IMO. The music didn't suffer during Lovesexy, Purple Rain, nor Sign O The Times IMO and he was all over the place on those tours. I thought One Night Alone was a long jam session, and those are nice, but I prefer Prince "Shows" instead of Prince "Performances". It's all about preference I suppose.

just bought a ticket for Amp Fiddler, hoping he gives a great FUNK-show .... because I know Prince isn't the greatest to me anymore and my time-machine just broke ....
