I'm really confused about who he dated first. I read a Nona Gaye article and she dated him when she was 18 for 2 years. I don't know when he dated Carmen but Nona said that their relationship ended when she found out that he was engaged to Mayte.

Damn it'd be amazing if I could figure out of his relationship in chronological order, but I don't have that kinda time.

Carmen of course, she's, what circa 91-93/4? Pre-dates Nona Gaye who was on the scene for a short while, around the time of MBGITW - 94.

Prince named Carmen, as far as I know, she was not 'famous' before Prince.

I have a soft-spot for Carmen's LP, it's crap as hell, but in a good way, it's good humoured.

I bet she could've had a few hit singles if she had released it whilst she was in Baywatch.

Some of the songs are fun pop tracks, Fantasia Erotica, Good Judy Girlfriend, S.T, Go Go Dancer.

Better than Mayte's album, which was a similar affair.

I don't know where it started, but Eye Hate U has often been referred to as being about Carmen, dunno how accurate that is.

Question Was Carmen voice used for the symbol album ? For tracks Love 2 The 9s, The Max and The Three Chains O Gold ? Then when Mayte got introduce and became a member of NPG she just lipsing to the voice.

well i'm not sure who he had first, i knew he had them at the same time, and on the E! true hollywood story of carmen electra, she said that their relationship ended when he started noticing that Mayte was getting most of P's attention. Nona Gaye she REALIZED it was over when she found out (not thru P) that P was engaged to Mayte. So whether he dated one or the other before or after the other, the point is he dogged both of them out to get with Mayte.

I think Nona and Prince were in a relationship....but I think Prince simply dogged her for Mayte. I think he was physically more attracted to Mayte and dumped Nona....unforunately.

Carmen seemed like one of Prince's typical women. The way things sounded they didn't have an affair, it was a deal. I'll give you a record deal and a career if you give me some p**sy, simple as that.

With Nona as far as a relationship I never thought they were boyfriend and girlfriend. He might have had some physical attraction to her and vica versa but whenever you get through with it why couldn't he be hot and heavy with her in the Love Sign video like he has been with other women in other videos:
(hint--Diamond and Pearl in Gett Off video). Why did they cut away the scene when they were supposed to have made love. Sure you got the message, but you don't see anything and why couldn't have been that Nona had the engagement ring instead of exotic non black Mayte.

Other than that - and I hate to say it - but I agree with you. I think back in the day, it was cooler to be seen making out with some biracial/multiracial/nything but black woman than some black teenager from D.C., you know? (Hey, just like today!) Sad, because Nona was beautiful in her day - nothing like she is now (I think her eyes, which have seen sooooo much, gave her a "rode hard and put away wet" look that she's been able to grow out of), but I don't think Nona will EVER be on the level of say...Halle Berry beauty. Why? Not because she doesn't have the looks, but because she doesn't have that so-called exotic look. Nona is, as my friend once said, "good old-fashioned, all-American pure black beauty".
