So, here's scenerio.

You're lucky enough to be in the studio watching Prince record a new album. It's YET ANOTHER one of those borring ass Jazz fusion albums.

You have some GHB on you, and no one is watching. You have the perfect opportunity to slip it in Prince's drink.

Would you, out of respect, refrain from doping him up---or would you do it with a burning curiosity to see if songs he's working on will end up sounding more interesting?

eek

You pose a question more serious than the meaning of life. Had you sad, "another watered-down pop album" I would have more than likely tucked the GHB away, grinned and tried to tolerate it. If he was GENUINELY recording another one of his HORRID jazz fusion albums, I would slip him the GHB. Not because I'm evil, but because I'd want to save my own life. Listening to him recording yet another jazz fusion album would bore me to death. wink

Luv & Peace,
Alex

I recently visited a web site related to love41another, and in the question and answer section, it was noted that the black album may have been shelved at the time, because Prince had done one or more songs while under the influence of ecstacy, and didnt have a good time while on it.

isn't ghb one of them date rape drugs?

Oh, you mean like alcohol? That's the most popular "date-rape drug," and the 7-Eleven next door sells it.

Seriously, the dose/response curve on GHB is really steep... the difference between a "high" dose and a "pass out" dose isn't much. Spiking anyone's drink with anything wrong, but doing it with GHB is especially appalling.

In all fairness to GHB, it's been used medically in other countries for decades, and it has even been approved for medical use in the USA now (for treatment of narcolepsy). The catch is that it's legal only if it's manufactured by a specific company (the brand name is "Xyrem"), which has a special process in place for distributing it. You can't walk into a pharmacy and get your prescription filled; rather, you have to get it from a specific pharmacy that ships it directly to you.

This was done by making GHB generally a Schedule I controlled substance ("The drug or other substance has no currently accepted medical use in treatment in the United States"), but then making Xyrem a Schedule III controlled substance ("The drug or other substance has a currently accepted medical use in treatment in the United States"). That is logically inconsistent, and no other drug gets this sort of dual classification. IMHO it unfairly gives the manufacturer of Xyrem a government-approved monopoly on the manufacture of medical GHB, and it's an end run around the patent laws (GHB has been around too long to be patented).

Well, lets's just say that some of your topics are off the beaten path, you have to admit that some of it is out of left field.....and of a very, very sexual nature toward Prince..Now, don't get me wrong, if Prince was available, I would give it a shot, but sometimes AsianBomb, your topics are very explicit.....

falloff No, I just went off on a rant. The whole "date-rape drug" scare (including Rohypnol a/k/a "roofies") is a pet peeve of mine. And the dual scheduling of GHB irritates the lawyer in me. Cocaine has some accepted medical uses, but they didn't dual-schedule it--rather, they put it in Schedule II (which includes drugs such as OxyContin and morphine).

BTW, my uncle is a physician, and he says you'll almost never find medical cocaine outside of a hospital. So don't forge a prescription and try to get it filled at Walgreen's.

Too funny. Interesting thought if a fly-ass CD comes of it, but otherwise, no, I wouldn't.
