Any harcore Prince fan (like myself) can tell you that Gayle was Prince's rhythm keyboardist in the first incarnation of his solo band. She joined from 1978-1980.

Gayle was interviewed for one of the last issues of UPTOWN. She did a long sit down with them and told some great stories. She is a very talented member of Prince's history. She rarely talks about her time with Prince, but UPTOWN was able to get some very fun information from her (including info about songs that have never come out and some background on the REBELS sessions).

That is a picture I haven't seen! Damn!

DAMN!! Prince was REALLY wild in concert back then. I have some bootleg videos of concerts from "Dirty Mind" through "Purple Rain". I never bothered looking for any before that because I thought the concerts would be tame. I'm going to have start looking again.
