This part of the rehearsal version cracks me up. But as far as the song goes, the live version blows it waaay out of the water. It was the live version that I first heard, and I swear it knocked the wind out of me. Not many songs hit me like that, but this one was like a punch in the belly. It's a bootleg. It's from the original First Ave concert in 1983, from which some of the songs on "Purple Rain" were taken. It is absolutely sublime and worth whatever you have to do to track it down. The Normal Whores Club | |
