Question about Musicology tour DVD For you long time org'ers, what do you feel the chances on that there will be an official NPG release of any of these shows on DVD?..Paul McCartney did it.. The Stones did it....I'm hoping Prince will do so too, but with Live in Vegas having been released last year, I'm thinking the odds are slim. Any hope for a live dvd to come out? God is Love..Love is God

The simulcast of the beginning of the tour is a sign of hope, though. But, as said above, don't bet the farm on it. "My soul belongs to God, but my body belongs to Prince"

God is Love..Love is God The July 31st Auburn Hills, MI (Detroit) show was professionally filmed by several additional cameras than those normally used for the videoscreens. These included a boom camera suspended out over the audience, at least three hand-held cameras, and another camera mounted on a track on Rhonda's side of the stage that moved along with Prince. One of the roadies told us afterwards that they were "filming for a DVD release." There were also rumours that this is the show that will be broadcast on Showtime this fall (reportedly).

yeah he'll put out a musicology dvd alright, while he's on his next tour for another album. Then the dvd will cost 24.99 or some other bullshit. It won't go on sale for another 2 years and by then, some other orger will be whining for another concert dvd... [Edited 8/31/04 19:38pm] I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.

On occasions on past tours (much like as described above) he has hired professional crews to film or employed more equipment than usual, and nothing has oficially seen the light of day. I don't doubt that the Musicology tour has been professionally filmed on more than one occasion, that a member of the crew has privately commented that it's for a forthcoming DVD release (because that's what they genuinely believe), and even that Prince has such release plans (otherwise, why go to all of the effort?) BUT ... Prince has been known to change his mind about releases more times than his hair style - raising your expectations simply isn't worth the blood pressure. ALT+PLS+RTN: Pure as a pane of ice. Wait untill X-mas time.
DVD will be there soon after the US leg of this world tour is over, and the European part begins. probably the Australian - Hong Kong adventures will be part of it. the demand over there for a dvd release is huge!

We can HOPE. He certainly SHOULD release one as it will be a hit.
BUT will he? 'I loved him then, I love him now and will love him eternally. He's with our son now.' Mayte 21st April 2016 = the saddest quote I have ever read! RIP Prince and thanks for everything.
