the '90's:whose career would you choose? Lenny K vs Prince
Whose career would you rather have strictly based on teh strength of the '90's?I will list some musical highlights: Prince one of us space papa come ripopgodazippa mad sex joint 2 joint holy river endorphinemachine interactive the ? of u joy in repetition come on sleep around sexy mf insatiable creaM wasted kisses gett off the one shhh the ride white mansion shy billy jack bitch days of wild now eye hate u dolphin the good life bump squad hallucination rain the exodus has begun dinner w/delores That is just a frew of his cool songs from this decade. He also had his own label, gained his freedom, bedded beauties, made cash, lost cash, made a laughing stock of himself, got married, became a vegetarian, broke wind ,and wore an ear wrap. Here are some musical highlights of Lenny's: heaven help it ain't over 'til it's over rock and roll is dead again american woman fly away justify my love are you gonna go my way mama said many, many more Now,Lenny experienced an incredible decade. He bedded many models, wrote many a hit song, posed as a guitar god, changed hairstyles, broke designer wind, made millions, was considered cool by everyone, and wore a hoop earring. Lenny had the bomb career in the '90's.I still feel that Prince was more daring and achieved greater artistic highs. He didn't sell as many records, but Prince displayed more genius ina so-called down decade than most artists on this planet. Kravitz will always be a fave of mine, but nothing he can ever do will be better than what Prince has done, will do,is doing, etc.I want both brothers to keep rocking on,though! Prince, simply because I HATE LENNY!! He is revolting. I hate Lenny with a passion. But based on the 90's (instead of my own bias) I'd still pick Prince because his accomplishments were far more significant in my mind, and stand out more than any of Lenny's accomplishments in the 90's.

Lenny could do some serious damage to Prince in a slap fight. If prince.org were to be made idiot proof, someone would just invent a better idiot.

Prince- his journey through the 90's delivered him to where he is now.
Lenny's 90's journey delivered him to doing lame GAP commercials with Ferris Bueler's wife. [Edited 8/29/04 20:30pm] "New Power slide...."

The ONLY person I can think of that had their best work in the 1990s was Lenny Kravitz. The 1990s was the worst decade in music history and the year 1999 was a far cry from what I envisioned it to be back in 1982. There sure as hell wasn't any "partying like it's 1999". It was more like "dozing off like it's 1999". The new milleneum has been even worse. We are moving backwards instead of forwards. [Edited 8/31/04 3:28am] Andy is a four letter word.

Ask the same question at the Lenny Kravitz fan site, then compare the results. My hypothesis is that a trend will become apparent.....

[Edited 8/31/04 3:28am] I agree.. what made the 90's even more disappointing was ending the year of 1999 watching a mediocre pay-per-view Rave concert.. I had such high hopes for that show.. I think I may have watched it only twice (via video recording) since the original airing. ..Gonna party like it's 1999!!!... Prince , you led me on.. and lied to us. I gotta admit like some of Lenny's songs ... but let's be serious, Lenny is really not all that. Everytime I hear one of his songs, I'm like ... Damn, haven't I heard this by another artist already ?! And ... only me or isn't he seriously tryin' too hard to come close to Prince's style? I mean, look at his now straight hair . It's such a MESS !!! And that "Baptism" cover shoot ... might sound absurd because it's red and all that, but it reminds me of LOVESEXY so much ... anyone feel the same way?
