YOUR HOME-MADE PRINCE CD'S?

I've noticed that a few of you make your own Prince cd's of tracks. Some do slow songs.....some do funk.....and then others do rock.
I just thought it would be interesting, for some of us here, to see what you've managed to put together and the order that you did it. thumbs up!

Just post you track lists and what you've called the cd below. biggrin

Funny enough, I just made one again yesterday. Well, I hardly ever burn them to disc
but I just arrange them in file on my winamp player to check out how they sound as an
"album" before I burn anything.

I made myself an "alternate" Emancipation album. A single disc which includes released
outtakes and 1 unreleased track.

01. 20/20
02. My Computer
03. New World
04. She Gave Her Angels
05. Face Down
06. Dreaming About U
07. Joint 2 Joint
08. The Holy River
09. Courtin Time
10. Somebody's Somebody
11. Sleep Around
12. The Dance
13. In This Bed Eye Scream
14. The Love We Make
15. White Mansion
16. Soul Sanctuary
17. Emancipation
18. Goodbye

It works very well as an album. It has a bit of everything that represents the original
Emancipation album. Yet, it's condensed into a single disc with some of the best cuts
being the ones that Prince left off the album in the first place. Considering the high
quality of some of those tracks, I can only conclude that he left them off because he
felt they weren't quite "homogenised" enough to blend into the rest of the album as
a whole. Personally, I think they're great.

Oh, and according to "The Vault" the song "The Dance" is an Emancipation era track
so I just had to include it lol.

Mine are pretty boring:

The 7" Singles Vol.1

Why You Wanna Treat Me So Bad?
Still Waiting (edit)
Sexy Dancer

Let's Work (edit)
Do Me Baby (edit)
1999 (edit)
Little Red Corvette (edit)
Delirious (edit)
Let's Pretend We're Married (edit)
When Doves Cry (edit)
Let's Go Crazy (edit)
Purple Rain (edit)
I Would Die 4 U (7" version)
Take Me With U
Raspberry Beret
Paisley Park
Pop Life
America
Kiss (7" version)
Mountains
Anotherloverholenyohead
Girls And Boys (edit)
Sign 'O' The Times (edit)
If I Was Your Girlfriend (edit)
U Got The Look
I Could Never Take The Place Of Your Man (edit)

The 7" Singles Vol.2

Alphabet St. (edit)
Glam Slam (edit)
I Wish U Heaven
Batdance (edit)
Partyman (edit)
The Arms Of Orion (edit)
Scandalous (edit)
Thieves In The Temple
New Power Generation
Gett Off (edit)
Cream
Diamonds And Pearls (edit)

Money Don't Matter 2Night (edit)
Sexy MF
My Name Is Prince (edit)
7 (edit)

These comps are somewhat masochistic in that because all the 7" edits are used, the songs are over by the time I really get into them. But that just makes me appreciate the full album versions more.

It really flows well, doesn't it?

I always think it's better to stick to a theme when making compilations.

Indeed ... it must be great to start a Prince collection with this compilation, instead of Musicology!
The only thing I would have done different: I would track this compilation chronologically ...
But I didn't re-arrange the tracklist to chronologic neither, so it didn't really bother me at all.
To be honest .... I switched Controversy and Uptown so that Uptown and Head flow together.

One of my friends who got this compilation from me is really showing interest in Prince's good-old-times now!
