Nah...Controversy was much hotter back in the day. He doesn't even get to the long change with his current arrangement, and that's the 2nd funkiest thing in the song. The first, of course, is his "People call me rude..." lines, but even those don't hit as hard as it did during, say, the Second Coming. But, what can you say about a song that's 23 years old, I guess. The NPG do an okay job with these jams, but his funkiest versions? Not quite!! I could def do without The Chi-Lite's sampled-Beyonce song's horn riffs in the middle of DMSR. And let's not talk about the absurd lyric changes in this jam! Really uncalled for, IMHO.

yeah i agree they aint like they used 2 b but i like the way hes tried to alter them slightly here and there, i dont agree with the lyric changes but hey ho.
