I secretly wished Prince would show and wrap up the year that he kicked off at the Grammys with a riveting "unannounced" performance at the MTV Music awards. But, damned if I'm glad he didn't show.

It was the worst awards show I have EVER seen. I mean, there's going to be more action tommorow at the Republican National Conventiont than this thing.

And with Prince protoje's and fans scattered throughout the audience, I starting thinking that he WAS going to perform, but it was so horrible even Prince couldn't have saved it.

Would any of you prefer he performed tonight?

after readin some of the reactions of those who watched that chit tonight on the non-prince forum, i'm glad he wasn't on there too. plus i'm glad i don't have cable.

the sound setup was horrid....although i did appreciate a key's performance with stevie wonder and kravitz....but yeah, other than that, it was a huge insult to good music...

But here? She just looked like a flee bitten call girl.

I caught enough of the VMAs tonight to make me wanna change the channel. Best Video Game Soundtrack... WTF?

Alicia keyes Provided The Best Performance in my opinion,but I did enjoy Christina and Nelly also.

Alicia had a great performance.. I'm gonna be mean and say that it's too bad a mindless group of people like those pop cultured out ppl at the VMA's couldn't appreciate the depth of Alicia's songs..~

Yes usher did lip sync the first part of his performance but that was just because of the rain that was falling on him the mic could not be on or he would have been electrecuted

but beyonce was not. Homegirl looked like she stayed too long at the tanning salon...or maybe it was just the color of her wig that made her complexion look so damper. I always thought she had a nice complexion, but nowadays she's looking very overproduced. And why??? She's not an ugly chick, she's very attractive, when she first came out she was very nicely well kept, but now, i have to shake my head...is the fame getting to her head???
I thought she couldn't have looked worst at last year's mtv awards but she topped it off...
