Does Prince have friends? Prince is so much into his music that it seems like he would not have time to establish and keep friendships. Does he just hangout and chill with anyone outside of his employees?

Interesting question. It does certainly seem that he doesn't have any time for anything outside of music. I can't remember the exact quote but during his muchmoremusic apearance he said something to the effect of "how many songs can you write? you can write a song or stay happily married" I know I didn't get the quote exactly right but what I understood it to mean is that Prince has finally realised that there is more to life than music.

Thanks for the laughs, arguments and overall enjoyment for the last umpteen years. It's time for me to retire from Prince.org and engage in the real world...lol. Above all, I appreciated the talent Prince. You were one of a kind.

How sad...that's he's poured his emotions, his time into his music that he hasn't had time
to form stable relationships. That's all... Thanks for the laughs, arguments and overall enjoyment for the last umpteen years. It's time for me to retire from Prince.org and engage in the real world...lol. Above all, I appreciated the talent Prince. You were one of a kind.

This is a good question.
1 We all know that Prince is very competitive and it definately shows in his sheer output of work. 2 Recording music is a time consuming process with a band and Prince usually does it all himself which has to take even longer. 3 The fact that P has hundreds of songs in a vault says a lot. 4 You would think that if his bandmates are trully friends he wouldn't go thru them so quickly. Still it's hard to say without really knowing the guy personally.

He recently said something to the effect of "I'm a person like anyone else. I just play music everyday."
Doubt it's as dramatic as he has no friends...no one close to him etc. I'm firmly planted in denial

I hope he doesn't. Prince doesn't need friends. There are people in the world whose friends define them, and then there are other people who don't need friends...LIKE ME! I'd rather hang with my twin sister. My thing is this: friendships usually start out of jealousy/envy-- think about it...
Did you befriend your best friend of did he/she come up to you? If you went up to the person that eventually became your friend, why did you feel the need to befriend him/her? probably because you envied something about that other person. I had a "friend" once who only came up to me because she was jealous of how skinny I was and wanted to know my "secret." I found this out later. Friends are a mess, indeed! ***** the sad and the lonely love the best. "The poets are demanding their pay..."
