I can't get enough of him, and the concert is just starting to sink in. I can't even describe how I felt, he is just so amazing. There are no words for it, it gave me such a high! He was just so incredible, and I cried because his music and performance touched me so much that it was all I could do!
As soon as I get my next paycheck, I have to add to my Prince music collection. Where should I start? I already have most of the basics (Purple Rain, 1999, SOTT, Controversy, Dirty Mind, TRC, Musicology). Any suggestions? I'm already planning on getting Crystal Ball if only for "She Gave Her Angels" (love LOVE that song!) You're gonna be seeing a lot more of me in this section of the Org!

It's so great to read these posts. Prince has this way of bringing you into his world and never letting go and I tell u, I've been a fan since I was a child but this has got to be the best year as a Prince fan ever for me. This tour, the album, it's just been like nothing I've ever experienced and it's so incredible.
As for what album velvetroper should get, I'd go with these: Parade Lovesexy The Gold Experience (you'll have to search for that one but once you find it, you'll be glad you did) I'm not a fan of "old Prince". I'm not a fan of "new Prince". I'm just a fan of Prince. Simple as that | |

I have been EnAmoured with the Man since I saw in on tv in 1982 on Solid Gold doing Litlle Red Corvette. Money is No Object to me as Far as Prince is Concerned. He is Worth it. The Feeling I get from Watching him perfrom well that's Everything. I have a Total Crush on Him is what People Say. Nobody is More Significant a Mentor either. He's Breathtakingly Gorgeous to Boot. So Velvet I Know the Feeling. Prince does that to ya. He Spoils Ya For Other Artists Cause He's So AMAZING....I LOVE HIM SOOO MUCH!!!! | |

yes i also fell under his spell after i saw him in D.C.!!! He was so amazing and being that i was on the front row didn't help my strong feelings for him. the man is just so energetic and pretty and sexy. when the concert was over i was just about in tears. I didn't want to leave him....
as soon as i got home i had to put in one of cd's and check out housequake for the latest live videos they posted. and of course i had to come here to check out the latest news..but P has a way of putting his fans in a trance, whether its intentional or not, it happens. I know i'm way under his spell....can't wait until i see him again.... I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince. | |

Er… Hi, my name is JackieBlue and I too am obsessed.
I’ve been lurking for awhile but it’s time to speak up and confess. 
Been a fan since 80s; some eras were more intense than others. I’ve seen him about 3-4 times prior to Musicology including LoveSexy but since seeing this last tour 3 times in 3 different states I feel somehow committed in a way I never was before. Each week, I’ve made yet another Prince purchase to add to my CD collection and even pulled out my dusty VHS of the Ryde Dyvine. Instead of the effects of the tour fading it only seems to grow into what I fear is obsession. I feel like throwing out all my trite fun CDs and holding onto only those that contain ‘real music by real musicians’. I thought I was over this sort of fandom but clearly I was mistaken. Ever heard of it? You've got it. This phenomenon occurs when u've been a Prince fan 4 years and then u finally get 2 see him in the flesh. It happened 2 me in December 2000 and I've been screwed ever since. It never gets better, only worse. So don't try 2 look 4 cures, cuz there ain't none. Let me guess....the CD changers in ur car and ur home are filled with only Prince CD's. U've already searched his sites 4 news on any other shows u can get tix 4. UR dying to see him live again. U've had dreams about it. U've told everyone u know about how unbelievably talented he is. I've spent probably a few grand now on Prince (shows, club membership, other items). I know. I know. I've been there. I AM there. Again..... Welcome to the Purple Sickness. Enjoy it. | |

 It looks like there are quite a few of us who have had the same experience from the Musicology tour and can relate. I was a huge fan back in the day and a Lovesexy tour survivor. I lost touch around Diamonds & Pearls and now I'm back. The love just hit me once I was at the show. Just call us the newly or renewed obsessed! I like parts of all of the CDs I "missed" (except Chaos & Disorder), but my favorite all-around release during the "lost period for me" is "Come." Otherwise, I'd recommend Lovesexy & Prince (2nd album) to the original poster. and i had to laugh at myself 'cause when he came out, oh man when he came out, i felt like screaming like those girls used to do at those beatles concerts i had to compose myself. i didn't want my friends to freak out.  | |

I didn't really think the Gold Experience was that great of an album, but the title track is a pretty good song, and TMBGITW is on there, so I guess for those reasons alone, it would be worth picking up the album, even though the majority of the album is sub-par material. I can't talk about him sometimes.....brings me to tears. If u've ever seen that movie about Beatlesmania....Hard Days Night I think it's called....those teen-aged girls in that movie.....that's how I am about Prince, since I was their age, up until now. He is the only musician I get like that about.
