Yes, It's the final song on the 3rd disc from The Hits/The B-Sides set.

it's one of his great ballads. makes me want to cry sometimes....

Heehee.... For 11 years, I've thought, "I really like the music to this song, but that line in the chorus just ruins it!"

Confused? Well, up until today, I'd been thinking the lyrics went: "Power fantastic, Isn't your life elastic..." It always made me think, "Oh, he just stuck that in because it rhymes, but it doesn't even make sense!" (Kind of like Bob Marley with "culture" and "vulture"!)

Have just realised my error! So I'll give it another listen.....

I remember when everyone was talking about this song before it was released -- how I wanted so bad to get my hands on it (i don't do boots), and then finally we got it on The Hits / B-sides -- when I first heard it, I couldn't understand what all the hype was about... but it didn't take long for it to grow on me -- it's absolutely beautiful!

This song is definately in the running for best Prince song ever.

He's pushed the boat out a few times, and this was one of them.

'til I read this thread I thought it was "life elastic" as well, and this greatly interfered with my pleasure of the song...it is beautiful (and no it is not Miles Davis on trumpet, despite what the boots say)

Power Fantastic is one of my all time favorite songs PERIOD. This song is simply beautiful and the fact that it was recorded live in a studio is all the more amazing.

Damn! Y'all ruined the song for me. I thought he was saying "isn't life elastic" all of this time. It bothered me at first but I grew to like it, no love it. Now....
