What do you think are songs that best showcase Prince's guitar playing? I'm making a mix CD for a friend who's just getting into P., and he requested "good guitar songs".

Those songs , to me are just rock songs .
Yes , they are blues inspired , but not pure blues i.m.o .
Whereas the "The truth"is him trying to play old style (acoustic guitar) blues,

And yes i must have heard "When you were mine" over 10.000 times and liked the rhythm
guitar , but it doesn't have a guitar solo .

The thing that I think is cool about this thread, is that Prince has so many guitar styles. You can tell a keith Richards solo, or s Jimmy Page Solo..you can tell an Eric Clapton solo...and certainly Prince has his "sound", but he has so many damn proficiencies, its amazing, and as a guitar player myself, its something I can only dream of doing.
