Musicology 2004Ever and Bundling Implications Over at the Club, PP9 stated that even though this leg of the tour was almost over, P & the Band could potentially take a few months off and start the whole thing over again (here in the U.S.). This got me to thinking about the implications for the CD bundling thing. I know that the Musicology tour is grandfathered into having Billboard count the CDs that are passed out as sales. But if Prince cuts a new album after this leg of the tour, and begins to pass the new CD out during future Musicology tour shows, would those albums be counted as sales because they would still fall under the umbrella of the Musciology tour exception? Is it the album itself that is grandfathered in or the tour? Could this be the reason that the tour is 2004EVER? Or if it isn't, could this work to Prince's benefit? Can Londell figure out a way to get around this if it is ONLY the album that is grandfathered? Any thoughts?

It's not the tour that's grandfathered in it's the album "Musicology" that gained the *. So I see no way in which a new album would be allowed to be given away and count as sales.
Maybe Prince should continue to give the albums out for every tour he does for the rest of his life to really jack up the sales

he can do 1 of 2 things
1) Release another album which has only musicology single on it and the rest of the tracks r brand new and still call it musicology CD 2) Release a collections of 3CDs and anyone buyin that package will get into a free concert!! That way he can go 5 platinum or more!! i think the second idea is more possible he will only count the CD and not be officailly on tour

Still the "Musicology" CD, but now it has a ton of new songs on it (with the exception of Musicology). Same packaging and everything. Thinkabout the tizzy that would throw Billboard into. Yesterday is dead...tomorrow hasnt arrived yet....i have just ONE day...
...And i'm gonna be groovy in it!

I think he should give out Musicology every time he goes on tour -- no matter whether some of us have a dozen of them. Stick it to the industry!! I'm all for that.

I get you, but as I understood it, a cd would only count for sales if the price difference was more than a nominal price. I thought the difference had to be for a price that a cd would sell in a store or close to it. Did I misunderstand? S Filthy cute and baby U know it
