While the soundtrack is great (except for Release It, Tick Tick Bang & Still Would Stand All Time) The movie..uuuhhh I wanted 2 lie it really, but come on..Look at how bad Ingrid was lip singing to Love Machine! The hit by the car scene...it was just like....he didnt know how 2 end it or something. The whole just seemed pretty rushed and that's what i had seemed 2 be reading in "The Vault"....almost no one thought that it was worth spending the money on..but oh well. At least I saw Prince doing other stuff. Come on.... 3 Chains O Gold acting was even cooler. Straight Jacket Funk Affair

Okay, just to make sure everyone stays on point, we're talking about the movie NOT the songs in the movie.
And dude you've got some serious issues if you think that movie was good in ANY WAY SHAPE FOR FORM. I'd wager that it was probably one of the WORST movies of ALL TIME. Classic example of Prince's ego run amok. http://www.facebook.com/p...111?ref=ts

GB, the movie was quite better than the soundtrack. Though, the plot and script was disappointing and stupid, the characters were awesome. Check me out and add me on:

I like the movie alot. Its last on my list of P movies, but I definately like it. The performances and the humor are what draw me in. I just have fun with it, because U cant take a movie like this too seriously. Did you order a pizza ma'am? Prince- UTCM

Here you go again with another joke thread, just like the one on Apollonia being one of the greatest singers in the world.
Yeah....."Grafitti Bridge" should have won an Oscar. Andy is a four letter word.

The Hatred I feel for Graffiti Bridge is not a selfish hate. I'm hating the movie for all the good Christians, Buddhists, Jews, Hindus, and Muslims who are not allowed to hate and must be suffering from their inability to express it agains this movie. Therefor I am selflessly channelling such unexpressed hatred on their behalf towards that movie in the hopes of ballancing out the universe and allowing love to once again grow in the light of a sky free of images of that wretched movie.

"...in Hell."
It should've read fully, "Griffiti Bridge is the Best Prince Movie...in Hell." When you add "in Hell" it makes it clear..

I just watched this one again, and... I dunno. It's cute sometimes, and I don't mind the 'Seven Corners' set (I work in musical theatre, and am used to stuff like this), but whenever they're on the 'Graffiti Bridge' set, I just keep expecting Captain Kirk and Mister Spock to come running on, and blast Prince's ass with a phaser!
Still, it's better than the Prince comic book...

I watched GB today...I thought of this...
GB looks like a STAGEPLAY, not a movie...it goes through sloooow periods where you just want the next scene to pop up. Some songs are strong (Joy In Repetition, Elephants & Flowers, Still Would Stand All Time), while others grate unrelenting (Tick, Tick, Bang, Round and Round, Shake). Easily the worst movie of his career. Thanks for the laughs, arguments and overall enjoyment for the last umpteen years. It's time for me to retire from Prince.org and engage in the real world...lol. Above all, I appreciated the talent Prince. You were one of a kind.

This is for the Deacon, Graffiti is not the worst film of all time, it's probably not even in the top 100. Hell I saw it in the theatre when it came out, and I wasn't alone in the room. I could count on two hands with three fingers missing on each the amount of people there with me. We had fun, form what I can remember since it was fourteen years ago. So Deac, stick to your guns man and fight the lonely fight, somebody loves you ( not me I don't know you well enough ). Jeux Sans Frontiers

The acting, action, directing, cinematography and music was awesome. Why noone else felt this way i don't know. Ingrid Chavez should have, at the very least, been nominated for a Sundance Film Award for Best Actress for her performance. Does anyone agree with me?

Thank you, Uncle Grandpa
I am glad i am not alone with my LOVE for GB. The dance scene with Jill Jones singing Love Machine was AWESOME. The scene at the Bridge where The Kid had the gun in his hand was very touching. I almost started crying but then i realized it was just a movie. I think one day this movie will be considered a classic. Remember, they trashed The Wizard of Oz when it came out and now it is famous. If a corny movie like WOZ can be a classic then i know a piece of art like GB can.

OMG, you're comparing GB to the likes of a groovy movie like Wizard Of Oz?? Say it ain't so!
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
you seriously vouching for GB as the best movie of all time?! Like some epic, revolutionary type of a thing?!
To be fair, the movie had 3 good parts. When Morris Day pisses on the potplant and sets it on fire, When Prince sung elephants and flowers (It was a good performance, admit it) and...some of Aura's lines were so pathetic that it did amuse/entertain.

i can admit that the soundtrack was a little more bearable than the movie. I didn't really have to skip the whole entire cd to get some kind of satisfaction. I love P to death, but that damn graffiti bridge is the most absolute worst!!!!
even when i try to MAKE myself watch the movie i always end up skipping 95 percent of the scenes, the corny Melody cool and tevin...need i say more? I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.
