Prince mention in "Angels & Demons" Hopefully this hasn't been posted before...
...but I just read Dan Brown's "Angels & Demons" (the precursor to "The DaVinci Code") and there's a pretty cool reference to Prince; Talking about the artist Raphael, who's last name (Santi) is relatively unknown, the main character (Robert Langdon) is stating that "...being known solely by one's first name was a level of fame achieved only by an elite few...people like Napoleon, Galileo, Jesus...and, of course, the demigods Langdon now heard blaring from Harvard dormitories - Sting, Madonna, Jewel, and the artist formerly known as Prince, who had changed his name to the symbol  , causing Langdon to dub him "The Tau Cross With Intersecting Hermaphroditic Ankh."1
Considering the popularity of Dan Brown now, it was pretty cool to see the symbol right there in the middle of the page, in a book being read by countless people around the world.

I got all excited when I read that part in the book. I am a huge Dan Brown fan. I wonder what Prince thinks about some of the theories mentioned in the Da Vinci Code? It were proper bo I tell the!! Bo Selecta! | |

Just finished The Da Vinci Code...interesting.  Thanks for the laughs, arguments and overall enjoyment for the last umpteen years. It's time for me to retire from Prince.org and engage in the real world...lol. Above all, I appreciated the talent Prince. You were one of a kind. | |

I haven't read The DaVinci Code yet...but if it's in the same line as Angels & Demons then I can assume that Prince would like it A LOT. He seems to enjoy contemplating the mysteries (and misery) of the Church. After all, he IS a J.W. - and didn't he get a big kick out of the movie Dogma?  By St. Boogar and all the saints at the backside door of Purgatory! | |

I haven't read The DaVinci Code yet...but if it's in the same line as Angels & Demons then I can assume that Prince would like it A LOT. We must keep in mind, the book is FICTION... It's a work of fiction that discusses actual theories that exist out there, it does draw you in. Opus Dei hated it enough to dedicate several pages to slagging it off, and I think it may have made it on to their forbidden books list. I am sure most intelligent people know that it is fiction, but the theories are food for thought. I have read one ot two books on the subject since reading The Da Vinci Code and it is facinating. Not totally convincing, but facination all the same.  It were proper bo I tell the!! Bo Selecta! | |
