prince on american music awards 95

yesterday I was watching prince on the america music awards 95 (the one where nona gaye presented the award). Anybody notice that during the purple medly (at the part of darling nikki/1999) the screen freezes on the audience?? when they cut back it looks like one of the lady dancers took of her shirt. Anybody know if that happen????? Also I hated the fact that during 319 the camera keep doing long shots just because they thought the performance was to nasty. Lastly anybody notice the look on little richards face when the camera went into the audience?? It look like he wasn't going to clap for prince but since the camera was on him he had to.

Live.....the dancer had her shirt "torn" off as a part of the show. When it was aired in the "WEST", it was cut out so that her titties didnt show to the viewers. Hence, the reason why the rest of the performance was "rated" from that point forward.

I remember the camera freezing on the audience. I always thought it was a malfunction.

I thought it was cool that when Prince didn't sing We Are the World and pissed off Quincy Jones. My favorite part was that Wendy,Lisa, Susannah and Sheila E were all standing over to Prince's right side.

that was the debut of The Purple Medley, with Carmen Electra and them dancers--eventually released as a single shortly thereafter...he lipsynched TGE snippets (well before it was released)

Billy Jack Bitch w/ dancers
I Hate U w/ mayte dancing
319 w/ mayte dancing showing her snatch
and then Loose from Come w/mayte dousing herself with bottled water

Told people not to sweat the NPG's bankroll (since word on the street was that he was broke)

this is from the top of my head..i think it's right

Yeah it was really neat. A figure in a mask walked down from a set of steps into a bunch of draped dancers in chaotic procession. Then a gunshot was heard, and the figure in the mask drops dead. All the dancers fall flat on the floor and the spotlight shines down on one of the dancers, who sits up, throws the drape of his head, to reveal that he is Prince. The music kicks in and from a sitting position PRince does a bouncing split that stands him up and he proceeds to dance with the rest of the NPG dancers. Pretty cool intro, especially since the audience was stunned to discover that he was on stage the entire time with the dancers and the person walking down the steps wasn't him , but just another dancer.

I liked the introduction of Billy Jack Bitch, but was dissapointed that everything was lip sang. It really seemed like Prince was going to have a good year, but he didnt'.

Istill watch this sometimes. I dig the cocky look on his face when hes dancing to BJB. Not to mention how great Mayte was in that little performance. So flexible, so HOT.

It was great. I mean he was chewing gum during the performance pretty much letting you KNOW that he was lympsyncing. It wasn't until after the musical performance that you see him do something with the gum (if I can recall correctly).

He did several in a row in the Rave Un2 The Year 2000 video.

I didn't see the entire thing though. Despite the first rate musicians it seemed kind of forced???

1 of the Funkiest performances on an awrd show ever that inluded a ballad. P is the best at that shit! And they had no bizness tryin 2 force P 2 sing 'We R the World'. Q should have asked b4 the show. I was surprised that P even got on stage, they were lucky 2 get him 2 do that much!

Yeah, i loved when P was in the middle and he had Carmen and Mayte on both sides of him and they were dancing. Although Mayte is a very good dancer, i like Carmen's dancing better because she is more like the type you would see in a club. Mayte is more like the type you would see at a ballet.

Not exactly. He was carried to the center of the stage draped in a sheet, and laid down on said stage.
