Your all time fav PRINCE jam, JUST PICK 1 I know this can be difficult for some, I know that its difficult for me, so go on and pick your all time favorite PRINCE jam, just one now. For me I think I'll have to say Love Bizarre, even though it kind of is a Sheila E. song but PRINCE wrote it and is on the track. Great song! Slow & slippery, groovy if we bathe in each others hips, and get close enough 2 stick. S 2 the S!

I think gold is the best written song ever. Three amazing melodies in one.
Kiss would be my second, and The Truth my third. .

I guess it would have to be DMSR! For the bass, the lyrics, and the fact it's not overplayed. It represents all that Prince is- Dance, Music, Sex, Romance. ______________________________________________

Kiss. I can't help it. Such a clean, funky jam. Hearing that song for the first time was a defining moment for me - I became a true fan. "When they tell me 2 walk a straight line, I put on crooked shoes"

my all time favorite Prince song has always been "When Doves Cry." it is still one song that i can listen to over and over again. the lyrics, the voices, the rhythm have been intoxicating for years. besides, i absolutely love all the little barely-audible grunts and licking of lips that you can only imagine him doing while laying down that track "Pink Cashmere" is a close second for many of the same reasons. i love how one song can change in many different ways--from being a simple song you'd hear on the radio to being an all out jam with roaring guitars and gospel-like vocals. My no. 1 Prince jam of the moment (Is that cheating?) is Starfish and Coffee. That song says it all for me - sing your own song and who cares what other people think. It always makes me smile and shout out "Go'on Cynthia!" Honey I just can't stand 2 see U happy, but more than that, I hate to see U sad

but for me it would be I guess "Crystal Ball" I have to agree. When I first got my hands on it back in 88 it simply blew me away. I love the original version more than the one he has released on the Chrstal Ball CD set... its more dense and complete. I truly love the song because of: 1. The Lyrics. They reflect Prince once for all. They are extremely spiritual, but not obsessively religious. 2. The Groove. The slow start with the bass drum, then the percussion, later the clare fisher orchestration----goosebumps. 3. The Voice. Camille at his/her best. 4. The Instruments. Prince plays most of them. Again, very representative. Overall, the perfect song. "Peace and Benz -- The future, made in Germany" ![]()

my friend, study music before you post such a comment. that song is no prince-song. it was written by james brown/bobby byrd back in 1969. "Peace and Benz -- The future, made in Germany" ![]()

For me, the one that sticks out is "Something in the Water" (does not compute).
A long time favorite of mine. Something so dismal about that song. Cant put my finger on it. And U are so right, there are so many others. And I will probably change my answer before the end of my typing, Yup, I knew it, Its gotta be the 86 version of "We can Funk". Still something kinda deep and dismal about that song too, Oh wait a minute, I guess it would have to be "If I was your girlfriend". Damn, I gotta stop while I am ahead. Too late, Another one is....LOL =============================================
