I may be in the minority but i think Graffiti Bridge is P's best movie. Much better acting and film plot than PR and UTCM. The songs are better, the sound is clearer and the action is AWESOME(remember when the jeep ran into the window?) I can't get enough of watching this movie. Jill Jones should have been nominated for best supporting actress. Her portrayal of a jilted ex-girlfriend turned stage dancer was MAGNIFICENT.

omg omg omfg nod nod thumbs up! clapping

I started liking Prince after I saw Graffiti Bridge. I was never really a Prince fan. I am ashamed to admit that at the time, I was unaware that he was the guy singing "When Doves Cry".

You can join Columbia house and get them inexpensive ... if anyone wants to join "under" me I'm happy to oblige.

Purple Rain 20 YR Ann. Edition is $11.97 there.

I purchased all 3 dvd's and watched them all. I have a quick question?....In the UTCM music videos, Prince is dressed in yellow and singing "You need another Lover like you need a hole in your head". Wendy is signing and playing guitar and is that her twin sister w/her? And is this the time that Prince and Wendy's twin sister susannah seriously still dating? just curious

I don't know if this has been brought up at all, but I just got my DVDs through (damn customs mad ) - and as I was releasing them of all their cellophane and 75 security stickers, I was reading the blurb on the back of the DVDs.

And I had to laugh at the synopsis of Graffiti Bridge, it barely mentions the plot at all! lol

I didn't want to purchase this DVD until I read your post. Thanks!

I forgot the funny parts in "GB"...
The Tyme to Morris: "Guess who's coming to dinner"?
Morris: "What"?
Prince: "OOOOOHHHHH"! (then he smirks)

Oh yeah & the part where Jerome is riding that Fully Dressed Harely-Davidson with a side car...reminded me of my biker bros' touring hogs.

Last "GB" comment (I swear)...Prince lifting Chavez up against that wall... OM goodness & his badness. Baby is strong!

I just bought UTCM on DVD yesterday and I'm okay with it. The audio seems to drop in the videos though, not good. But that was one of the reasons I bought it, for the videos.

The "Anotherlover..." video was great, but I read on this site that the video was edited...and it shows.

A friend of mine says he saw the video on VH-1 Classics but wound up changing the channel, I was wondering has anyone out there seen it and what did I miss on the longer version ?

Bridge yet), on dvd. I purchased it along with the 20th anniversary edition of Purple Rain
and rave un2 the year 2000 on august 24th. I remember when Under the cherry Moon
came out me and a friend of mine jokingly said "Hey man we should go 2 France
and become gigialos like Prince and Jerome.....

I just watched UTM a couple of nights ago and was pleasantly surprised. I havn't seen it since it was out and it has aged quite well.

Overall I would rate it a 5 out of 10, so just a pass mark. In the first half of the film (by far the best half) it was heading to a 6 or 7 but the second half, or at least the last half hour, fell away quite badly.

The film looks good and P's direction is actually quite good and he shows some definate talent in that respect. There were some great tracking scenes (which can be hard) and some very well constructed scenes such as at Mary's party. The acting was at least passable although I dont think Jerome was too flash, he is more than a little over-dramatic. Prince is okay and whatshername that played Mary was excellent and looked very beautiful.

It's just a shame about the lousy last half hour, but I'm still pleasantly surprised.

I wish I could be as positive about Graffiti Bridge. What a mess!!!

It is seriously one of the worst films that anyone has ever made. It really is that bad. It made me want to hit myself in the head with a rusty pick axe.

It has the worst script ever written, it meanders along with no obvious plot, it looks cheap, and every performance is woefull. eek

How in the fuck did Ingrid Chavez get that part? Her acting is even worse than her pox ridden poetry and she is not attractive or sexy. She looks like a 12 year old boy for Chrissakes!

There is only one good scene in the whole film and that is the one near the end where Morris is left on that stage thing during Still Would Stand All Time. However, that vibe is soon fucked up when he goes into the club and immediately makes up with Prince and they walk off with arms around each other...rolleyes

What a total fuck up!!! pooptoast

p.s I will never watch it again. Even the performances were shithouse.

the sound quality on graffiti bridge is not good... just compare it to the purple rain dvd... the volume level is much lower.
