ZAP2IT RATINGs(Out of) ****
MOVIE: ** 1/2
EXTRAS: *** 1/2
OVERALL DISC: ***

"Graffiti Bridge" is not the most successful of Prince's movies, but you'll want to get this DVD for the music, of course, just like "Purple Rain." He's as sexy and thin-looking as ever, and this one is a bit more arty than you'd expect, with lightning flashes and a namby-pamby storyline. But, at least this film about the music industry doesn't have any guns blazing -- although someone innocent does die.

The music videos and theatrical trailer from the 1990 film is nostalgic, and the PG-13 film has a lot of humor especially thanks to Morris Day, as the funny guy nemesis to the "Kid" down the block with the successful club and the new sound.

Don't expect Prince to make a commentary about it, that's not going to happen, but there's a matted widescreen format to view the vids such as "Thieves in the Temple," "New Power Generation" and "Elephants and Flowers." There's Morris Day and the Time playing "Release it Shake" and lots more, lots of music, and that makes this a must-have if you're a music lover. Some of the music videos show Prince's old concerts from the 1908s and 1990s.

George Clinton, Mavis Staples and other classic singers appear.

Prince looks like a ghost, but he's hot as he has a smoldering romance with Jill Jones, who plays a shy poetess.

The dancing is unsurpassed, and essentially an erotic orgy of nearly naked bodies writhing on the floor. They don't make great bad music movies like this anymore.

This is part of the "Purple Rain 20th Anniversary" Edition release of Prince's films, including "Purple Rain" and "Under the Cherry Moon."
Check it out ...Shiny Toy Guns R gonna blowup VERY soon and bring melody back to music..you heard it here 1st! http://www.myspacecomment...theone.mp3

What's the shock? Yea, the supposed "romance" (nothing smoldering about it) was w/ Ingrid BUT Jill was obviously an ex. neutral

If Jill Jones was playing a shy poetess, that was the worst acting ever!
