I've seen Animal Kingdom mentioned too many times now not to give it the big THUMBS UP! It's a wicked track.....weird as fcuk and there's some corking freeky guitar work. And the Dolphins.....What about the Dolphins.

Clearly those who hate it do so because they love their red meat , white fish , and fonky fonky blue cheese even more!

Automatic is one of Price's BEST songs.... when it came outin the 80's it was awesome, never heard anything like it.

For Me, there is at least one "hate it" song on almost every Album.

But there are a couple albums I hate in entirety:

Chaos and Disorder ... especially Dinner with Delores (my name is Deloris ... and that song ain't about me at all)
NEWS ... this is the most boring album ever made by ANYONE.

I guess I shouldn't feel as much disgust for the musical tastes of those that dislike Zanalee, IT, A.U.T.O.MATIC, Animal Kingdom, Grafitti Bridge (the album), Chaos etc. I can understand that people don't appreciate Wedding Feast for what it is-- it's NOT a song people -- but to let that or the oh so horrible "VOICE" ruin a marvelous album is a shame. If anything I feel bad that they are missing out on the enjoyment I get from these songs/albums. Besides, those that like Jughead, Betcha By Golly Wow and New Power Soul (the song) can say the same about me. What they can't say is that I don't try to enjoy the music. I listen to an album with a desire to like it for what it is, not with any expectations of what it should be.

Oh, well... go on haters. I guess I'll be alone in my appreciation for Arms Of Orion in all of its cheesy, syrupy splendor.

whodknee, I'll admit that I also have a special place in my heart for Arms of Orion. My best friend, Ben, and I used to sing that song a lot in high school. I used to be able to hit those high notes. LOL

I'd already been a huge Prince fan for years, but Ben just couldn't understand my obsession nor would admit that Prince wrote ANY good songs.

Then came Batman. It was the first and only Prince album he's ever bought and he dang well had it memorized within a week, like any good Prince geek. He's since gone back to not liking him...but for one whole year, we were bonded together in Prince.

Now, for the bottom of my Prince song barrel, I'll have to add:

Push, Jughead (or a lot of the ones that Tony impeded upon)
I Rock, therefore I am
Animal Kingdom, She gave her angels (or the ones that song like operas)
Da, Da, Da; a few others off of Emancipation

Most of the others that you all have listed, I can listen to...unless I'm impatient enough to jump to my faves on that particular album. Thank goodness for ripping and burning your own mixes!!

I haven't heard When U Love Somebody, Still the One, or I like Funky Music.

But isn't all this the beauty of Prince's music? The sheer variety in his collection allows us all to have such differing top 40s and bottom 10s-- with as much variation to make us agreeably argue the finer points and the "are you nuts?!?!" comments for many hours.

I deleted the content of this message, EVEN THOUGH IT TOOK FOREVER TO WRITE, because half of it didn't post, for some reason.

what about "My name is Prince", a song so bad, HE even changed his name after it! Other lowlights for me are;

"Sometimes in snows in April"-- it just ends the Parade CD on an awful note.
"Jughead"-- the worst
"Freaks on this side" -- even typing the song title makes me cringe
"My Computer"-- lyrics I think Prince would take back if he could
Everything on "The Truth" except for the title track and "Circle of Amour"
"It's Gonna be a Beautiful Night"-- I never could get past Prince calling out Miko for a guitar solo and hearing Eric Leeds and Atlanta Bliss blowing instead. Maybe the least inspiring live funk "jam" he's ever released
"Life o' the Party"-- A real shame, cuz ordinarily, I LOVE Candy, but, not here. But Candy is the least of this songs' problems.
