I'm broke, or I would get it. The only version I have is a really crappy VHS I taped off of TV with horrible static and scenes missing. I'm sure I'll end up getting the DVD eventually. If you buy all three (PR, UTCM, and GB) on DVD at Best Buy you get $5.00 off. (so it comes to about $50.00 before tax) I can't even afford them w/ the sale.

I'm one who chooses not to get it -- the extras aren't enough to interest me. If it would've had deleted scenes or commentary by Prince or new music or clips of the other movie/documentary Prince was working on before this one -- then I'd be interested.

I refused to buy it until they put it in widescreen, I've waited long enough

I am going to rent it from Videobusters for $2 and then decide. I don't have the current version, but I always told myself I'd get PR one day. Likewise UTCM, although since I would just want to watch it again once or twice, I'll probably just rent it.

if they sell them seperately(UTCM,GB) then i would buy those two.

I haven't really planned on it.

I think once Prince and WB makes up there will probably be a better one released some day.

I plan on having a friend record the new parts for me.

Of course, it would be interesting to hear the remastering that they did to it.

The movie's sound always turned me off even though the performances wher awesome.

Those lazy bastards over at Warners better have found a decent film print this time too. I've seen a lot of older films transferred to DVD from crappy stock. Warners are notoriously lax in this area.

well I have seen purple rain on DVD for a few years now and Wally world has it for $8.88 now but I guess I will see what this special edition is all about and decide if I will get it.. So I will be hitting the store Tuesday
