Purple Rain 20th Anniversary SE DVD Countdown Thread I can't believe it's only less than a week until the release of the Purple Rain 20th Anniversary SE DVD!!
And what a way to celebrate it by remembering the first time you saw the movie at the theaters?? How many times did you see it at the theaters?? What was the experience like for you?? Who were you with?? What was your favorite part of the movie?? Etc. etc... And the more important question, how many here are getting their DVD on Tuesday?? If not, when are you buying it?? "Just like the sun, the Rainbow Children rise."

I was 14 years old, and my mom took me after much begging and pleading. I had been a Prince fan for more than a year and thought it was awesome the guy had his own movie -- not just a song for a movie, but his very own movie -- all about him! Can't really describe the experience -- it felt very different, and I loved it. The lady in front of us would giggle from time to time whenever Prince talked in the movie -- she couldn't believe he was a normal human who talked (not only sang) like the rest of us. Man, what a rush! Also, I saw it in a new theatre which had great sound. Loved every minute!! Was a little disappointed that it was Apollonia instead of Vanity, but The Last Dragon was another treat to see (with my 17-year old brother) about six months later in the same theatre. | |

JUST TWO MORE DAYS!!
BTW, anyone has information on which store is selling the movie the cheapest?? The cheapest I've seen so far is Best Buy at $14.99 if you buy it with UTCM and GB (which are $14.99 as well), but I was wondering if another place sells it the same without having to buy the other two (can't afford them all until my next payday)... I think Purple Rain is going for 19.99 and the others for 14.99 - at Best Buy. Those are the prices I've seen "3 1 2 1" | |
