The conversion is complete--Call My Name video played on multiple screens in shopping mall!!

I'm walking through the Arundel Mills Mall today (between Baltimore and Wash. DC)..and I hear Call my Name...so I'm like "okay..cool..no biggie..they're playing him on the radio"..I look up and BAMM they're playing the damn video on what they call Mills TV (I'm assuming that all Mills projects malls play the same thing)... now they have probably 50 or more of these big screens throug hout this huge mall..and I'm thinking to myself...I liked it better when nobody was listening but the die hard fans...is that wrong? I mean a Prince video while you shop? How much more Americana can that be. This has to be right up there with Vanessa "Nude Pics" Williams singing Disney soundtracks!!

I'm just saying...

at least Beast Bye had a stake in it--since they had stake in TRC's ultimate success or failure..but geez...what's next..Lite Rock Radio? They play the most milquetoast music (Jessica "Duh" Simpson, Clay "Ewok" Aiken...)

Arundel Mills is the coolest mall in the state. I go there a lot, but I haven't seen the video played there yet. I just wonder how many people actually stopped to watch it.

Hey Melt, where in Arundel Mills do you work, and can we all get discounts??!! smile I dig that place, but it's so far out just be going to a mall or the movies. I only live near exit 17 off of the beltway, but getting to 295S, then 100E is sometimes too much just to be in a throng of youngsters everywhere. LOL! It's cool they were playing the vi, though. Did it seem like people were enjoying it or jamming to it?

Yeah man, Woodlawn or Windsor Mill. Whichever label someone wants to put on this area. I think the post office doesn't even know. LOL! You're right about Prince fans...all we need to hear is the first note of something and it's like our version of a dog whistle!! LMAO! The ears perk up and all else around us doesn't matter 'til the song's over. Were you at all 3 shows last weekend @ MCI?

Hmm, today as I was breezing thru the electronics section in my local Wal-mart, I passed a kiosk with a TV that was showing the Musicology video. lol

As a semi-punk fan now (about half of the music I listen to is punk rock) and a nearly TOTAL punk fan (around 90% of what I played) back in the day, I had to go through watching bands that played in my living room -- I lived at the Profane Existence house in Mpls. -- (Rancid, Green Day, Cringer, Christ on a Crutch, Jawbreaker, The Mr. T Experience, The Circle Jerks) playing in constant rotation on MTV. That was PAINFUL, so I know EXACTLY what you were feeling in that mall.

And no, it isn't wrong.

Luv & Peace,
Alex
