What would our world be like without Prince? It's a frightening thought. No Purple Rain. No "1999." No Outkast. No Beck. No Carmen Electra. OK, maybe that wouldn't be so bad.

But Prince's influence cannot be overstated; as one of pop music's few true geniuses, the singer, songwriter, producer, multi-instrumentalist and entrepreneur has profoundly shaped the cultural landscape of the last two decades. Riding a wave of renewed commercial and critical interest because of his robust latest album, Musicology, Prince has taken to the road to remind us what a force of nature he continues to be, even at the age of 46. Last month in New York City, he performed an electrifying 21/2-hour set of hits and crowd favorites, touching on just about every musical genre as he surveyed his formidable career.

Surely he will do the same in Philadelphia, as Prince has never been known to give any less than his all.

Peace and Stay Wild!

Jill
