Musicology vs. Rave Un2 the Year 2000 vs. Live at the Aladdin Which tour did you prefer? I think Musicology4ever expands upon the jams that made Live a memorable concert and turns an already tight band into the tightest touring group ever assembled. Live at the Aladdin was a consistently EXCELLENT concert and didn't seem to pander to EX-Prince fans as much. There were only 2 or 3 big hits played. I loved hearing the songs from The Rainbow Children done live. The Everlasting Now and Family Name were about as good as Prince gets live. The images playing in the background regarding slavery, etc. were great. I really liked the altered Controversy cover with the AOL Time Warner merger as a headline. What I didn't like was that John Blackwell didn't get the spotlight he deserved. Prince really recognized the drummer's talent and gave him his props during the Musicology tour. Rave had its moments, but was somewhat weak. His "Yes, Jesus Loves You" version of Purple Rain made me want to puke. A lot of his outfits were cheesy and the band wasn't nearly as good as the group assembled for Live at the Aladdin or Musicology. But it was probably the last time we'll ever see him do the splits in that wild way he does them. To make a long story short, I think it's Musicology then Live at the Aladdin then Rave. They're all good shows in their own right, but watching them back-to-back really shows how much Prince's band has improved and how he has grown as an entertainer.

Musicology Rave That's a diehard fan that would select that order. I was tempted to go with it, but it WAS a lot of fun to hear him revive and recreate his hits for one last time (or so we're told). The Musicology tour could have been perfect had he included a few songs from The Gold Experience and The Rainbow Children. Luv & Peace, Alex Clubbin' in Mpls/A Night w. Prince

I loved them all, but if I have to choose I would go with ONA. Mainly because the venue I saw him at was much smaller and more intimate, not to mention that my seats were FANTASTIC!

i prefer rave over alladin as the overall production / visuals were better . If you judge a show on productioin values and visuals, you'll prolly be left pretty disappointed with Musicology. If you judge it on THE BEST MUSIC YOU'VE EVER HEARD PERFORMED LIVE, you'll place it at the top. I'll be curious to hear your opinion, once you've seen the concert. Only thing that worries me is how much closer to ONA/Aladdin Musicology is than it is to Rave. I think Musicology is better than ONA or Rave, but I don't rate concerts on FX, unless they're a cheesy heavy metal show. Luv & Peace, Alex Clubbin' in Mpls/A Night w. Prince
