Why do people refuse to believe that Prince has wriiten/produced for others? I was just arguing with a co-worker who claims to be a Prince fan, but refuses to believe that Prince helped shaped the career of The Time and others.
He also argued with me...or at least cast doubt...on the fact that Prince has written for countless artists under the years and has produced for them. I need proof that Prince helped shaped The Time's career. He was the "Svengali" of the Minneapolis sound and either wrote or co-wrote tunes like "777-9311" and others for the time. This co-worker believed that I was lying because he couldn't understand why Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis would work under Prince, since they're already talented. I tried to explain to him that they DID work for Prince and were fired when they showed up late for an Atlanta gig. 1. Can someone help me out by providing a quick history of The Time and Prince's association and contributions to the band? 2. Also, I need a complete listing of songs that Prince has either written or produced for others. This guy didn't even believe me when I said that Prince co-wrote "Love Song" with Madonna. I need help with this. Thanks!

Maybe there's a site where you can print out his discography, including the song for other artists? I know I've seen that in some books about Prince...

Thanks so much! With this website, I was at least able to prove that Prince was one of the contributors to The Time and some of their most popular songs...

That works in cases where he used his own name, like Love Song: http://www.lyricz.net/M/Madonna/77479/ Of course, that doesn't work in cases where he used other names, like Manic Monday

People just need to give Prince his props. Its a shame that we feel compelled to "defend" him to people. [This message was edited Fri Aug 20 11:35:54 2004 by ndigo] The road you choose to walk in this life, is a road that leads to the next.....

I appreciate everyone's help. While not a complete listing, it's still a fairly comprehensive look at Prince's contribution to the music industry.
Thanks! | |
