Will Prince now be anti-gay? Don't know if anyone has posted about this but I'm wondering.....
I think the strict JW faith(like many)is not accepting towards homosexuals. So does this mean P will no longer hang with em???? He seems to very deep into the religion Any insight...please help! Every minute of last night is on my face today....

I have a terrible feeling if he continues studying the bible the WAY he has been, with Larry G., yes he will end-up anti-gay. That's going to be a tough thing for him to figure out.
But he seems to pick and choose what he thinks is right and wrong. I would love for someone to ask him that at a soundcheck.

Eventually Prince will be anti-everything, so fuck it. Let him burn. "You need people like me so you can point your fuckin' fingers and say, "That's the bad guy." "

I know I said this yesterday in another post, but it bears repeating in this thread.
This is the nail in the coffin for anybody out there that ever wanted a "Revolution Reunion" to take place. If he feels that way, then that event will NEVER happen. Im sure of it. =============================================

well, i have family members who are "out" and family members who are JW's...Once they were out it changed absolutly nothing in the dynamic of our family.. And if Prince is wondering, my grandfather was an "Elder" within the Church. This is the highest position one can have at a congregation. And he was always talking about having compassion for those who sinned. Not ignoring or hating them.
SOOOOO, if Prince uses his new beliefs for hatred...he is doing this all on this own. Not in the name of Jehovah God!!!!!

Wow, How interesting U should say that. My Father is also an elder. Although we dont have the best relationship knowing about me, and yes, I am, we do have a loving relationship just the same. It would be a shame for Prince to shut out anybody because of that. =============================================

Just a question...
If Prince (or anyone else for that matter) merely points out what God says about homosexuality, is that wrong? -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

as long as it's done respectfully.....and as long as the messenger realizes that the bible can be interpeted to pretty much say anything...and as long as its minus the "preaching"....

True. There are many things in the bible that are open to interpretation. But there are also many things which are very clear. But in order to have a discussion about what is in the bible, one has to first know what is written in the bible. There are many people who will have a conversation with (you) about the bible, but they've never actually read the bible or studied it for themselves. If someone is going to ask a question, then they must be prepared for the answer they receive... whether they like the answer or not. -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I hope not...
I'm gay myself, what attracted me to his music, was his vision of an intergrated world, male/female,straight/gay, white/black I wish U love & peace.

Prince has many gays in his fanbase.
I hope he does not become anti gay or anti anything. His fanbase should be welcoming to all people. ![]()

I hope he does not become anti gay or anti anything. His fanbase should be welcoming to all people. If any man takes a stance or holds (claims to hold) a belief that is based upon the "makeup" of his fanbase then who really cares what they have to say. If a man believes today that ALLLLL men (mankind) are created equal, there is no religion that could ever truly convince that person otherwise. We can pick up new ideologies from religion. Yet we can also keep our original beliefs. I would truly be let down by the man if he should ever be heard to bash gays. While I would be disappointed I would also hold out hope that over time he would see that hate, whether supported by a religion or not, is wrong. What I mean is, even if a "friend" has come upon errant ways, you stand by them and hope that they will see the light.

nowhere in the bible does it say it's OK to gay-bash.

Looks like another Babble, oh excuse me, Bible thread. The old book was written by "thoughtful" men based upon centuries of storytelling long before we knew much about the world - just a few clicks ahead of Greek mythology.
Leprosy was a curse. Epileptic seizures were manifestations of being possessed by the devil. And a thousand other misinterpretations of events we now understand. But at least most reasonable people are able to move forward and distance themselves from these primitive interpretations. Now if the same people could let go of their paranoid, primitive ideas regarding homosexuality based upon ancient "religious" teaching, we might be able to avoid threads like this one. Shut up, already, DAMN! "When they tell me 2 walk a straight line, I put on crooked shoes"
