Purple Rain on VH1

In case any of you are interested, Purple Rain is going to be on VH1 on the 21st at 5 p.m.

I saw it quite by accident.

I just wanna say one something:

The acting wasn't great, and it almost had that "Breakfast Club / Pretty In Pink" feel to it.
Also, the sound of the movie needs to be remastered as it was a little too bright.

But DAMN--the director took what could have been a disasterous movie and made the scenes dark, dreary and desperate. He gave it an edge that is lacking in Prince's other movies. He even ALMOST gives it some realism.

Kudos goes to that director.

ALso, what shocked me was the Darlin Nikkie performance wasn't edited. (Have we come that far in being decencitized to sex?). I know we're still represive for an industrialized nation, but damn--I thought they'd exclude Darlin Nikkie from the mix altogether.

I agree, I think I'm actually going to get it. The movie wasn't that bad. I like when he perfomes Darling Nikki. That's one of my favorite scenes in the movie. I just turn the volume down cause I really don't like the song much.

Actually, the Darling Nikki scene was deleted in the past on USA channel, but in the last 2 or 3 years they have added that scene back in. It is confusing VH1 makes different edits than USA...I guess it is up to the individual channels as to what they edit out.
One thing I have noticed is that Apple's boobs are
always edited out. lol
