while going through my outtakes collection.. i noticed the obvious: "cant stop this feeling i got" and "we can funk", both originally created in '86, segue into oneanother. so, my question is: what album configuration do these songs belong to and what are the other songs on there? does anybody have a tracklist?
thanks in advance.. don't need no reefer, don't need cocaine

“Can’t Stop This Feeling I Got” was re-recorded & put on the configuration of ‘Graffiti Bridge' assembled N late 1989, seguing N2 "We Can Funk".
Note - "We Can Funk" was orginially titled "We Can Fuck"

The Graffiti Bridge version from late 1989 includes: "Can't Stop This Feeling I Got"; "We Can Funk"; "New Power Generation"; "Release It"; "Elephants And Flowers"; "The Question Of U"; "Joy In Repetition"; "Love Machine"; "Tick, Tick, Bang"; "Shake!"; "Melody Cool"; "The Grand Progression"; "Graffiti Bridge"; "New Power Generation (Reprise)".

thanks in advance.. Add Girl O' My Dreams and Data Bank to that too. They were recorded in 1986 as you say for a projected Broadway musical, possibly called, Dream Factory. Source: Days Of Wild / The Vault / Turn It Up. // [This message was edited Sat Aug 14 11:42:52 2004 by NouveauDance]

thanks for the info BUT i was talking about the 1986 versions of both songs. as you can hear when you listen to "can't stop.."--this song segues into "we can funk" with prince saying "if that don't work!", followed by a response "yeah, what?". if you play these songs after oneanother it's obvious that they were meant to be played that way--they flow perfectly. so, i know of the 1989 version of "can't stop.." which is pretty much identical to the released version of the song. however, the 1986 version IS pretty different from those two. "we can funk" has also undergone some changes from 1986 up to 1989, but it's obvious that the 1986 version definitely segues from "can't stop..". go and check it out for yourself. that still leaves me with the question about a possible earlier album configuration (from 1986) including "can't stop.." and "we can funk". does anybody have any info on this? giotto? borisfishpaw? anyone? don't need no reefer, don't need cocaine

thanks for the info Don't listen to that bullshit "info"... The updated "We Can Funk" never segued from the updated "Can't stop This Feeling I Got"... The 1986 versions were either for the 1986 "The Dawn" movie project or the 1987 "Graffiti Bridge" musical project... Neversin. O(+>NIИ<+)O

The updated versions of 'Can't Stop This Feeling I Got' and 'We Can Funk' were re-recorded from scratch. They never segued into each other at any point. The 1986 versions (which were recorded segued together) were never compiled onto an album sequence, but as Neversin said, they were intended for a possible musical of 'Graffiti Bridge' or 'The Dawn'.
