OK so who Else got the Vault?? OK ,
I got my copy of the Vault about a month ago. The book is incredible with facts but I was a bit disappointed by its lack of pictures. Not one pick of the purple one or his adventures. However Per Nielson has done major research. I would love to hear what others who bought it thought. Don To All the Haters on the Internet

Didn't Uptown almost get closed down by Prince, obstensibly for using unauthorised pictures but really because they discussed bootlegs? They probably thought it wasn't worth the risk including pictures in the Vault.
I love the Vault - dip into now and then when I've got a spare moment, just open a page and start reading. Learnt a lot of factual stuff though don't always agree with their opinions on various albums and songs. Very interesting to hear about all the tracks he's written for other people - didn't realise there were so many. | |

I've had The Vault for a fortnight and it's a great resource. Like metalorange I've just been kinda dipping into it I haven't read it through yet. A massive amount of research has gone into it and it's great to read about concerts you actually attended.
It's a shame that they can't mention bootlegs. That's about the only thing (apart from the odd typo) that lets it down. Overall though a resounding  if you've gotta pay for things that you've done wrong I've gotta big bill coming at the end of the day- Gil Scott Heron

They exstensively talk about unreleased material. They don't tell you which boots you can find those songs on. The same goes for concerts. They're all listed but not one time in that book do they say which titles said concerts are available on!!if you've gotta pay for things that you've done wrong I've gotta big bill coming at the end of the day- Gil Scott Heron

Let me say the book is AWESOME! It is a virtual PRINCE ENCylopedia (Sp?)
Now it did take a while for me to get the book. I ordered early and sadly it wasn't ready on time. However it is well worth the wait and I highly recommend it. The amount of detail Per Nielson and Comp. put in is incredible. A few more pics would have been cool though. But yeah there are enough of those out there. To All the Haters on the Internet
