Does anyone have a secret song they like? One that everyone else in your circle thinks is ick and u silently think, 'aw thats my shit right here!'?

Again, I am in complete agreement with SquirrelMeat.

There are far worse artists to be embarrassed of: Paula Abduhl, Milli Vanilli, Hammer, Vanilla Ice, Culture Club, Dead or Alive, Britney Spears, and Sinead O'Connor come immediately to mind. However, have they put forth the efforts of Prince? Will they last beyond a handful of albums, or continue to sell records due to negative publicity? How many of them will put out new music, give to fans/fams, or go down in music history? For that, I'm embarrassed to say I may have purchased a few of these mentioned artists. Bits of Prince songs are now going through my head as I write this: "I got grooves, and grooves up on the shelf," "All 7 and we watched them fall; stand in the way of love and we will smoke them all," and "...Still would stand all time."

Those are some of my favorite Prince lyrics -- perhaps not from some of his "best" songs, but lasting and meaningful to me. While not the most popular from his repertoire, they might make people raise an eyebrow about (some of) my choices. BUT I LIKE 'EM!

I will admit to anybody & anywhere that I love Prince.

Although there have been times when I was watching something & wished that I was alone watching it: Like Graffiti Bridge (boy, did I get ragged on from my friends that night!).
Or that time Prince gave a comedy award to Chris Rock dressed as an old man & instead of laughter, you heard crickets chirping.

And,I ain't got no circle of people who like Prince just ME !I like em' all ! People around me think that way probably about I Hate U or strange Relationship though.Starfish and Coffee too I don't know

my most embarrasing prince moment hands down was that over the top performance of TMBGITW at the World Music Awards, yecchh.. best performance on tv "Dolphin" on Letterman

If you're talking about a specific song (like Arms of Orion - that's just CRAP!), or a specific movie, I can see that. But if you're talking about just being embarrassed because you're a Prince fan, well that's just preposterous. Have a backbone people!

I'm not embarassed at all. I had a symbol in my rear car window for years. Everyone who saw my car knew I was a Prince fan. I don't hide it at all.

One of my favorite songs is My Name is Prince, even though I've seen other Prince fans laugh and say that P can't rap. If I like the song, that's all that matters

I have never been embarrassed to like Prince,but I must admit,when he changed his name to that symbol,things got kinda rough.People would constantly come to me and ask "What's up with Prince? Why did he change his name?" or they would be more blunt and say "See? I told you he's insane!"

my first reaction was no way, are you kidding. But then i think back to some of the intervews he has given especially around the RAVE era and i cringe. Who remembers what he said on stage just before he performed the Christ for the first time. OMG the look on his face and what he said/sung made me hide under the pillow!. Still love him though, the big lug!.

Far from embarrassed - I probably use it as a way to start arguments with assholes.

Although sometimes I'm embarrassed by other Prince fans!! You've got to have sense of humour about the guy, he's clearly a nutter.

I was a tad embarrassed when "Orgasm" came on the stereo at a party (I had the cd changer on random with the come album in it).

Also, I silently enjoy "We March", "Right the Wrong", "Arms of Orion" and "Until you're in my arms again" while everyone else here seems to hate on those songs. I can't think of a Prince song that I find out right "bad" except for maybe "When We're Dancing Close and Slow". Boring....

All my friends hate Prince and i am constantly ripped to peices everytime anything to do with Prince comes up. To be honest i dont know anyone who likes Prince! How sad!

That is why these sites are good for fans of the great man, he is and will be remembered as a legend, its a shame people dont appreciate him now.

A lot of times, when my friends and different people find out I like Prince, they say Prince? How can you like him? I ask them do you listen to his music or have you ever seen him live and they always say no. So I'm not embarrased because the ones that say anything, don't know anything about him.

I don't agree with him sometimes, but I'm NEVER embarrassed or ashamed for digging him...never.
