What amazes me about this album is how innocent he sounds and how crystal clear his voice is. I know he was young but going back and hearing that voice---WOW! I love the more mature voice of now but that young P was heartwrenching.

gooeythehamster said: THere aint a song on there I don't like, bar maybe that cheesy intro. But even that is cute. Play In Love and you find yourself singing it all eve.
I think 'For You' is a really beautiful song. The harmonies are gorgeous. This album doesn't get enough credit or respect for how very good it is.

It's an awesome album! In fact, there isn't a song on it that I don't enjoy.

I swear to Buddha I was gonna start a thread about this!!!!!
The album is not bad. But I think we didn't really get to see the tru identity of Prince just yet with this one. This was an album where Prince was basically saying, "Look what I can do. I can play thousands of instruments and put them all together myself and write some halway decent songs". Dirty Mind was probably the moment where you got to see what Prince is really about. But this one ain't too bad, so I can't complain. "Just as long as we're together, everything's alright (everything's alright)....." NEW WAVE FOREVER: SLAVE TO THE WAVE FROM THE CRADLE TO THE GRAVE.
