Minneapolis.... Bunkers.... Prince

Just got a call from a friend, Prince is at Bunkers Nightclub tonight. He just pulled in, so he is actually there. Kip Blackshire is the scheduled performer. If you're in town, get your money maker down to Bunkers ASAP so you can shake it , just like I'm doin!

Alright, so I get down to Bunkers, and a few minutes later, at the table one over from me sits down Prince, Kirk, Morris Hayes.... and larry. Kip finished his show, and came back with an encore. He played Everyday People, and all I kept thinking was 'Please don't let Larry up on stage... Please don't let Larry up on stage'. They finished, and went into Nothing Compares 2 U, and Prince strolls by, asks the guitar player if he can use his guitar, and sits on the stage playing guitar. 3 Minutes of Prince playing guitar, and you can call me a very happy man.

UGH! I was in Minnneapolis last night for a screening of Open Water (I write film reviews for a living). I wish I woulda plugged into the 'net after the movie was over (8:55 PM) and read this. Scotty couldn't have beamed me there fast enough!

It's cool he gave a small surprise performance in his hometown! Let's hope he does the same for the ailing 1st Avenue! headbang

Luv & Peace,
Alex

1.No , he isn´t. He is a happily married man. I spent 4th of July 2002 with them and my friend Mike and his family.
2. Even if he was ....what´s the use in mentioning it or spreading a rumor ?
3. Morris is really fun to have a chat with... a very bright, talkative, friendly and articulate person who´s traveled A LOT ( with and without P ) and knows a lot about other countries and cultures.
4. Not to offend you, just out of curiousity...what makes you and other people think he´s gay ?

Cheers, E ...

I'm just intrigued because there has been a lot of speculation about Prince's stance on homosexuality (in regards to his new-found faith) and I thought I'd read here someplace that Morris is gay, that's all.

morris hayes is definitely not gay! He has hit on three different girls that I went with to three different concerts or aftershows around the 97-98 time period. He struck out with all of them. He's cool though, he'll talk to people. but man, he did try to hit on those girls. In Austin, he followed us outside onto the street and was shouting after us (at my friend Holly, a very tall blonde) about her needing to come back to his hotel room to help him pack his bags! She was just laughing and waving bye. Then she asks me about somehting he whispered in her ear at the bar earlier (at the afterparty). she said he whispered something about a "wheelbarrow" in her ear. !!!! straight out of that prince song! He tries to use a line straight out of 18 and over! I cracked up. He was after this other friend of mine, Amy, and used to call her on tour from other cities. She had his number back then.
