Larry Graham was and always will be funky I see a lot of negative threads about Larry Graham.
I still have to say that he was the inventor of the slap-bass. One of the pioneers of modern funk as we know it today. He was religious all long the way, so I wasn't surprised him and Prince would hook up one day. Knowing that GCS was one of Princes favorite groups. I guess he gets the 'blame' for Prince to go Jehova and I think that is really disrespectful. It was Princes own choice to become a Jehova and it's still a personal matter. I think no one should judge another on what he believes... As a musician: I think he is still a great man, a funk legend. I want to praise him in this thread for the funky stuff he brought us... I think he should get more credit by the Prince-fams. F U N K Y B A S S ! | |

OK. Well... good luck with that.
He may be all that you say he is, but it boils down to personal choice for me. I appreciate Prince's bass playing alot more than Larry’s. Just cause he created or invented a style, I still prefer Bootsy Collins, Larry Blackmon, Rhonda, Terry Lewis, Stanley Clarke, etc., over Larry anyday, but hey... that's just me.
