Since the early 80's when I was a teen, I'm 35 now so its been over 20 years

i've been a fan since 1978, and still have every LP, Prince ever recorded.

I have been a great admirer of prince since 1968.
He head chubby tree trunk legs back then and bogers hanging out. It is clear he was in his prime back in the day.

My father had his albums and I was a young girl listening to them. I clearly remember listening to Delirious over and over again (making up videos in my head and making up dance moves in the living room -- those were the days, ha!).

Well, so I've been a fan for about 19 years ... I guess since I was 10. I was 12 or so when I realized how fine Prince was. I also remember watching the Raspberry Beret video and calling him fine and my cousin called him "gay." And we argued about that. I remember her saying, "You never had a boyfriend?" and I remember saying, "If boys looked like Prince at my school ..."

I remember being jealous of his "lyrics" and trying to "write" songs. He is probably the person that started my love for words. I went on to major in English at college and I am a short story writer.

Man, I just love PRINCE!!
I'll be a fan for many years to come, unless he makes a gospel record and then I'd have to pass until that phase passed.

I have been a fan since 1980. I am 32. The very first album I owned was Controversey.
And my Mom took me to my first concert to see Prince at MSG in '85. I was very lucky that my Mom was cool!

I've been a fan since the For You Album which I still own. I've grown up w/P. I must admit he lost for a few years when he married Mayte and he was going through a confusing time in his
personal life and I didn't listen 2 his music as much during that time. I like where he is right now. I like the mature P. He's seem 2 be trying 2 make amends w/past friends such as
Wendy (who I loved) and there is a sincerity about him now. I can appreciate anyone who is trying to make right his wrongs. I've hung in there w/ P through the highs and the not so highs,and he has continued 2 give me constant inspiration and a great appreciation 4 the art of MUSIC.

I have been a fan since the age of 8. I am now 30 I just love him, I love him so much that when my parents went 2 c Purple Rain I got upset. He is the best his music just calms me down 2 the greatest point were I feel full of energy. I clean my house 2 him and everything.

I'm ole school...every since "Soft & Wet"...for those who don't know, that's the "For You" album..

I recall liking "I Wanna be Your Lover" when it was on the radio, but there were so many freaky rumors about him at the time that I was a little intimidated about pursuing the album (yes it was the days of vinyl and American Bandstand.)

I had heard a little of "Controversy" and "Dirty Mind", but the biggest rumor at the time was that he would actually masturbate on stage. Well that kept me out of the room until...

"1999" came along and changed everything. I remember hearing "Lady Cab Driver" at a "make out" party (I was 15) and thinking everything else I had heard up until then was simply wrong...not about Prince, but about everyone else's music!! It was 1982 and I was officially a fan after that.

It was June 1984 when I heard "When doves cry" for the first time.

It was the very first song by Prince I had ever heard and I still remember the time just stopped at that moment. At that time I didn't know anyone who fancied Prince, even my friends didn't like his music but I collected every LP I could lay my hands on. I can still remember when I had bought Dirty mind and listened to it at our living room, where we had our only LP-player and my mom just made some sighs and faces *LOL*

Now I began to listen to Prince again (I had some years I haven't listened to him much), as I'm writing a fanfic and made one figure look like him, so..

I've been a dedicated fan since I was 8 which was 20 years ago. Before then I was listening to his music when I wasn't supposed to but then it happened. My older sister took me to see "Purple Rain"(behind my parents backs of course). We watched it 6 times that day and since that day Ill never love another the way I Love Prince. Sad, huh.

As for myself, I can remember hearing "Soft And Wet" when my older cousins (who were in high school at the time) used to look after and had me around their friends a lot. But prince really got my attention when I first heard "Controversy" on the radio. I've been a fan ever since!
