Hello all. hope someone can help me. possess a small but very cherished collection of Prince on Vinyl. Amongst my collection is a copy of DMSR. However, the sleeve is white with just the words Dance, Music, , Romance in black written on the front and the disk just has a white label with the same, plus the WB emblem but no date. just wondered if any1 could tell me whether it is likely 2B a DJ's own disk or something.

It is an official promo record, not a DJ or bootleg. It should have a WEA code on it, something like SAM123. I can't remember. The vinyl should be VERY thick and heavy, and the track sounds superb compared to any other vinyl release of the song.

If you are missing any of these elements, then its could be a bootleg of the promo as its very rare. Someone else can give you a steer as to how rare it is, but I have only ever seen it come up twice since 1983. Far less than the likes of The Undertaker, Gett Off promo or 51 hours.

Keep hold of it, you won't see another one!
