During "Head/Electric Man" on the Parade "Hit n Run" tour, he would strip his shirt off and throw it in the crowd. I was in the third row and being over 6 foot, grabbed it easy. I hadn't realised how obsessed and sad some fans can be, and as I pulled the shirt out of the air, I was set up by a dozen crazed lunatics pulling at the shirt. By the time I came up for air, all I had left was the shoulder pad! I just can't bring myself to throwing it away!

From the musical part of my collection: The Family on wax, 94 East, Dirty Mind 8 track, 7 copies of Musicology.
From the fanatical fan paraphanelia part: dingy, shit stained feathers from the bottom of the cage of those doves at PP, plastic cups from the Xcel Center, tape off the packing label of an instrument at PP.

Stuff from the 2000 celly:
A symbol pendant - what do u do with that? A "NewPowerSoul" Nelly-style hat - who would wear that???? The empty CD-case that u got when u registered for the celly. OK, this is the least useless. It's a good souvenir, and I keep it next to the CD-player to put in CDs whose real covers I've misplaced. "We've never been able to pull off a funk number"

I got two symbol pendants! One is gold and one has like loads of jewel type... er.. jewels on it. I also have a gold brooch symbol.
I remember really wanting to get that moon shaped thing from NPG site, the thing you stick over your ear. Why? Why did I ever think that would look great? Apart from having it yanked off somewhere (I'm talking about the ear-piece), I can't imagine people saying: "Man, that looks f***ing great on you, you look like a star"! I also wanted to get a Purple Rain ankle bracelet for a chick just so I could say the immortal line: "You're lying! I can tell just by your reaction, you're lying!" I also bought some candles and candle holders from the Camden store many moons ago. I still have them! We don't have many power cuts! Talking of which, and just to note, I thought that Camden store was the mutt's nuts (and the only reason ever to go to Camden), and I want that store back, brick by brick. I don't mind bringing along Mayte this time to open it either (it will have to be in the afternoon, she's a waste of space in the mornings if you ask me, lazy moo)! I'll probably have a couple little sexies on the stand-by, and we don't want to upset them, do we? So you just glide by me and say...what?

When I read this topic, I thought that I would just sit back and read all the silly answers and laugh, esp. b/c I don't really think of myself as a collector of Prince stuff.. until I realized that I own..~
*a piece of gold confetti from the Jam of the Year tour~ *the black cardboard box with a gold symbol on it (that pictures of P. came in)--also from the tour~ *Purple Rain and Around the World in a Day on records.. which I recently acquired.. and I don't know anyone that has a working record player~ *a SUPER cheesy CD of an orchestra performing Prince's songs.. it's supposed to be "classical" but is so cheesy b/c the only voices are the background vocals... (like for Raspberry Beret, it will play the instruments and only sing "the kind you find in a second hand store".... more music... "and if it was warm.." -you get the idea)~ Alright, I admit, not as bad as some ppl's answers.. but I thought I'd give my 2 cents..~ **still searching for an inexpensive copy of Gold Experience... and an inexpensive poster where P. looks yummy (I know my roommate is sick of my classic Purple Rain one)~ ~Karebear~

All that I can think of now is that I have Diamonds & Pearls on cassette, even though I have the CD. Xpectation and N.E.W.S. Seriously, it doesn't get "fammier" than that! Luv & Peace, Alex Clubbin' in Mpls/A Night w. Prince

That is cool, not sad. The saddest things I own, are white confetti from two Musicology concerts, a purple steamer, my untorn tickets , 2 Musicology CD's and The Vault - Old Friends for Sale. That CD really sucks.

I don't think it's sad to own any of his CD's including the greatest hits or all three of The hits/The b-sides discs. We are all fans of his music so why would it be dumb for us to even have the worst CD's he ever made? Or the worst records? That doesn't make sense to me. I don't really like N.E.W.S. but I'm not ashamed that I bought it or own it. The weirdest items I have are confetti from the Musicology tour and the comic book "Three chains o' gold". I also have a near lifesize record store cut-out given to me by a friend who used to work at the store. It is Prince in a white outfit playing the yellow "symbol" guitar. Making love and music are the only things worth fighting for.

I think I got it at a Prince Fest in Ohio one year. Most likely from Madhouse Music outta England. It's a promo item I believe. But it's not in or on my car cuz then it would get faded or wrecked so it's currently in a Prince binder under the couch. The Vault is worth it if only for the song Extraordinary--love it! Ha! I'd have to say my two photos of Prince in my wallet. I have a photocopied picture of Prince from the inside of the PRINCE cd, and I have one of those pictures from the HITS 1 cassette cover.
OH, and I have these small itty bitty Prince buttons. I pin them on my totes or jackets. "The poets are demanding their pay..."

I went 2 Glam Slam here in Los Angeles, I hope I spelled the club right, anyway I had VIP tickets. We were given the VIP treatment 4 sure. I was given a gift bad with P’s symbol name on it. The bag was white but now it’s faded with black lettering. I cannot seem 2 depart from it. Every time I clean my room I come across this bag. I have many things but this is really one I need to toss out the back door. LOL
