"Jerk-Out" wasn't in the movie, so it wouldn't be a part of this new DVD.

No, that was "Shake!" that was performed.

I see they've removed the quote that they intially had on the cover. I know someone remembers this....they'd managed dig up what must surely have been the ONLY positive piece of criticism on GB, some film critic praising it as "the directors best work to date" (heck, who DID direct the film, and what on earth did they make before it?). Good thing its gone too, as it would probably violate a whole heap of fair trading laws...

If they change the cast, the story, and the set...I might buy it.

ah-hem....given the mainstream hate for Prince's directorial debut, maybe the critic was being facetious then. It looked hysterical on the cover of GB tho - I had this image of someone standing in the store holding Purple Rain, UTCM, and GB DVD's and saying "oh, so Graffiti Bridge must be the one to get!".

I'm glad the quotes gone anyway, no matter what its humour value. Now to save up to get Purple Rain and UTCM on the day of release....GB can wait until it comes down in price or I'm feeling extra rich.

I applaud whoever removed that quote.

Yes, it's a dork-ass movie, but I really wouldn't want to see that snide, backhanded compliment every time I pulled this one off the shelf. mad

lol Mean, thats just mean... sometimes i feel the same but i can't bring myself 2 say it wink hehe No really, GB is kinda otherworldly; angels, still standing time & all… but it deserves 2b on dvd (we all need 2 get a little "out there" sometimes). It was a project u can’t erase from Prince’s history. I think it'll b worth the buy just 4 the music videos & every1 knows it razz

UTCM im anticipating more… it’s a campy classic… me like, me like biggrin & I miss Jerome & the laughs he brought with him smile

Does any1 know if there r any featurettes... or commentaries tho? Mayb even a little booklet with info?

That quote was most likely an inside joke from the design/marketing department that handled the packaging. It happens all the time.

If I'm sent a review copy, who wants it? WB sends me review copies to about 30% of their DVD releases. I put my name in for Purple Rain's, so I'm guessing they might send all of the Prince re-releases. First person to send me an orgnote gets it. BUT, there's only a 30-40% chance I'll even receive it to send.

This is the only critic quote on the back of the UTCM VHS:

Awww, I think it's quite amusing... was trying to think of some in a similar vein (for GB):

"Undoubtedly Prince's greatest movie of the decade!"

"Ingrid Chavez gives the performance of her career!"

etc, etc.....
biggrin

The movie is a steaming pile of taint scrapings. But every damn one of us will buy it. We can make a drinking game out of it. Every time Prince makes "doe-eyes" (you know the look), toss back a cocktail.
