So help me decide my next Prince cd Yeah so im a newer Prince fan and im still scratching the surface of his albums so whatever cd gets the most votes wins it's place in my collection next

U aren't a fan unless u own his greatest work. Sign O' the Times. Pity about the sound quality of the CD but it really is essential.

But amazon has it for 50 dollars which is still pricy but easier to live with | |

i say go in order of release (unlike i did) ....this way u'll appreciate the evolution of his talent & musicianship & composing so much more. or do what i did...buy TRC & then a year later u'll appreciate it when u understand it & have the balls 2 say "yeah this isnt commercial or what i used 2 listen 2 when i was a kid.... but fuck its phenomenal! www.riotcitywrestling.com

You MUST own "Sign O The Times". His defining work, no doubt about it.
After that, pick up: Lovesexy (try to get an import that is tracked, if possible) The Gold Experience
Controversy The Black Album Get "New Power Soul", "Rave Un2 The Joy Fantastic" and "Batman" dead last. Those are his crappiest albums, in my opinion. All filler, very little substance (of course, I'll take a crappy Prince album almost any day over most of the stuff out there. Only NPS is truly dreadful)
