but he's pretty danm good. Now if this topic was abou being a great gitarist I would say Hell Yeah!!! Any person who can master more than 2 instruments let alone over 2 dozen is special in my book. | |

Certainly has one of the most spectacular ranges out of any popular vocalist in recent years. I would say he is in the top five of all time, right along with Marvin, Al Green, Sam Cooke, and so on. Definately GREAT!. LIKE BUTTA!...i love his instrumentals but i hope he never gives up singing. i love to listen to his voice, especially when he sings in his lower tones, but the highs are sweet too. May the BELLS ring 4 U even when ur not in love.   | |

Great.
Hes blessed with a voice which is more of an aquired taste 2 me than chocolate.....and he can belt out perfect notes with more passion and emotion than Gyneth Paltrow accepting an oscar. Nothang compares 2 Prince. | |

PRINCE is by far the most talented vocalist that i have ever heard, NOBODY and i mean NOBODY can get down like PRINCE...not vocally, not performance wise and definatly not lyrically! he is truly an ARTIST. | |

{{{{Great}}} Fantastic & has kickass depth! In a age where there are "ALOT" of "ok" singers or flat out yelling or frog voice talk/rap wanna-B singers....hes one that truly performs on the highest of vocal levels. The real deal...He can put on a super-pumped high energy show of leaps & splits from atop of the piano. With a twist an spin kick, bump-hump-grind 2 still hit a very hard high note~ Kids please don't try this at home!
Thats why most don't, & lip-fake there way through instead of trying 4 greatness! He's a natural born singer, not a put together project 2 trick people into thinking he can sing. I find myself watching his 2001 show on TV and when he gets 2 "Do Me Baby" & my fav on that show "Scandalous" damn.....I shake my head & say "he just tore it up" Thats what I'm talkin about....When U can do it LIVE in concert time & time again unfailing like Prince, U know U can sang! Pretenders take note....Or like Morris said: Why don't U stay awhile & see how its done! | |

Yo nothing against TTD oh wait...Mr. Darby changed his name like someone else we know as well...anyways, having seen him live and having 2 live concerts of his i'll call it straight...the brothas worth seeing live but he is not I repeat not on Prince's level. *NO-WAY-SHAPE-OR-FORM* I do like him but his vocals are not even that re-fined 2 say he has better range...haha, I mean at the end of the day he shot himself in the foot proclaiming himself a genius & a all time great with only one record out at the time~(funny) A bit premature if U ask me. But he has some great lyrics very good songs, his first record was one of the best debuts i've heard from a new artist. But the brotha knows in his heart of hearts besides James Brown & Sly that he was on Prince's jock 2...I'm sorry but I see his live show and well....his splits are not really that smooth.
Hey if TTD is really worthy...he would B more of a force in music today. Lenny Kravitz came out close 2 that time as well. His first album got beat up & down by the critics. So TTD was much more the rave at that point and time selling millions of copys. Lead TTD....Well nows the time 4 that all 2 important second record. TTD's missed the target bigtime & sold bad. Now on the other hand Kravitz's second record got more respect from the critics & the fans started showin love....the rest is history~ Lenny rocks! But I still hear a small buzz in regards 2 TTD but as 4 as I can tell...a bee makes the same sound. If hes got something like U think "a great voice" then he should B making a come back anytime now...right? | |

Well all I have to say is, "Anytime you can go from Bass/Baritone voice to Soprano in one note, you're quite amazing,blessed, and extermely gifted."
