Which covers should I include on my Prince tribute comp?

I'm talking about covers that Prince had no involvement with whatsoever.

Like:
I Feel For You - Chaka Khan
17 Days - Living Colour
Nothing Compares 2 U - Sinead O'Connor
When Doves Cry - Quindon Tarver

Any other suggestions? Please list ones that are relatively easy to track down. Thanks!

"No involvement with whatsoever"?? He wrote the songs! lol

Anyway, Mel'issa Morgan's "Do Me, Baby" ain't half bad and I actually kinda like "Paisley Park" by some guy named John Goode or something like that. I like what he does with the percussion and guitar. Prince took it a bit further a few years ago in his own revision of the song. Oh, and technically, I'm not sure you can call "Nothing Compares 2 U" a cover since there was no original Prince released version before Sinead's -- so, it'd be more like a cover of The Family's released version of 1985. That probably goes for a lot of Prince songs -- Martika's, Sheena's, Sheila's, etc.

Haha, you know what I mean. I don't want songs that Prince had a hand in producing like Jill Jones' "With You."

I included "Nothing Compares 2 U" because it was a Prince composition that was released before Sinead's version. I might choose Mel'isa Morgan's "Do Me Baby." I also might go for "Kiss" by Tom Jones/The Art Of Noise or the other one by Age Of Chance. What do people think are the best ones?

Tegan and Sara did "When You Were Mine"? Was that ever released? I may have to get that one.

I would go for Patti Smith's version of When Doves Cry from her compilation album Land. Just sublime. I'm sure there was a cover of Sometimes It Snows In April by a band from London whose name escapes me. It was pretty good. Avoid Simple Minds Sign Of The Times tho. Awful!
