Okay i was wondering if Prince's song Sister was autobiographical, if so i guess he had a rather interesting childhood.

Although the lyrics are kinda disturbing,I love this song!

It's one of my very favourite Prince songs, like Ronnie Talk 2 Russia, it packs a punch, with humour and flies off before it outstays it's welcome, classic Prince.

And no there's no reason to believe it is autobiographical.

Yeah i could never play that on the loud speakers but i do agree the song is excellent. i often crank it up on my personal cd player.

I heard that the song is auti-biographical. That is the reason for his"_ __" sexuality.

I believe the 'sister' discussed in the track is in reference to his family, namely his parents. Furthermore, i think that the sex acts to which he refers is a metaphore for being 'fucked' or 'screwed' over by these people. For example, Prince stated that his father would not allow him to live with him after he seperated from his mother.

You know what I think though, he was out to provoke and shock with Dirty Mind, and he probably just thought "What can I make a song about that will really shock people?"

He probably did the right thing by stopping at incest and not diving into the area of bestiality.

I think it has something to do with Prince staying with his older step-sister Sharon in NYC while looking for a record deal. Something must've went wrong during the stay; therefore this angry sarcastic song to get back at her. Anyone else hear this story?
