PRINCE DVD WISH LIST. What' yours?

WHAT WOULD YOU LIKE TO SEE ON PRINCE DVD’s in the future ?

I noticed that they just released a box set of Dolemite DVD’s. Now if they can put Dolemite on DVD, NPG should put out some more PRINCE DVD’s. They should get stuff straightened out w/WB and take some time and effort. What would y’all like to see?

Here is my idea/dream:
They should put out a two sided DVD for each major PRINCE project. Including, but not limited to: Sign o the Times, Lovesexy, prince, Graffiti Bridge, Parade, The Gold Experien ce, Emancipation, 1999, Diamonds and Pearls, Rave, Rainbow Children. For example-

Purple Rain-The Special Edition. A two sided DVD.

SIDE 1: The wide screen, fully restored, version of the film.
It would include deleted scenes, trailers, making o f type stuff, and commentary from Prince or Morris and Jerome.

SIDE 2: All of the video’s from the Purple Rain project, When Doves cry, Jungle Love, Sex Shooter, etc. All major TV appearances from this era, the Academy Awards, MTV’s premiere, and m o s t importantly Prince and the Revolution: LIVE.

I know this is just a pipe dream, but Springsteen has a complete video anthology on DVD and he isn’t even much to look at. NPG should get on the ball and do this-they have the footage. I know we fams wa nt it and would pay for it, if it’s done right. What do U think? LET’s PUSH for something like this.»Èˇ?

Skywalker I sure hope that your not saying Bruce isn't much to look at as a performer. Most people would consider Springsteen a much better live performer then P.

What a cool idea! when NPGMC said they were going to experiment with formats maybe that could be a hint an a possible DVD release.

I would love to see A gold experience DVD, i am interested to know where the Gold video came from? was that another TV special thing? Maybe you could combine this with the Beautiful experience??

Actually I was thinking about a SOTT 2 DVD set. The first DVD would be the concert in wide-screen with Dolby 5.1. The second DVD would be an "extras" disc with all of the following: interviews with the band while they were on the road (Cat, Shelia, Bonnie, Fink, Sheena Easton,ETC), a sound check with the band before the show, the rest of the concert footage from the other 2 SOTT shows that were filmed, a few tracks from an aftershow, and of course the MTV Video Musics Awards with Prince and the band preforming SOTT and Sunshine. I CRIED TEARS OF JOY THE NIGHT THAT I WATCHED THAT MTV AWARDS SHOW. That was Prince at his peak. Ahhh the glory days how wonderful it would be to relive them.
My DC Direct wishlist: 1) Bane, 2) Prof Zoom, 3) Superman Blue, 4) Kilowag, 5) Parasite

My wish list would include

1) Speacial editions of Purple Rain, UTCM, SOTT and Graffiti Bridge

2) Prince: The Videos (A complete set of all his Videos under contract with WB, bet it 3 or 4 DVD set)

3) Prince Live: The Anthology Series--This would be the definitive collection of DVDs, 20+ set that would include at least two full concerts from each of his tours, including the infamous starting up for the Rolling Stones

wide-screen, why? can some1 please explain 2 me why they think wide-screen is good. those black lines at the top and bottom of the tv just really annoy me; and if you only have a small tv, it's even worse.

1-Prince and The Revolution live :
1 disc in pcm stereo ( far better 4 music than dd 5.1 )
2-Lovesexy live in Dortmund :
1 disc in pcm stereo
3-S'O'T' the concert-movie :
1 disc in pcm stereo
4-Tokyo 90 Nude Tour :
The full concert on 1 disc in pcm stereo
5-Detroit 6/7/86 Birthday gig :
1 disc in pcm stereo
6-The sacrifice of victor + The Undertaker
1 disc in pcm stereo

All of these videos existed on laserdisc ( I have 1-2-3-6 ), excepted the Tokyo concert .
Warner could have re-issued them .

You think that's bad, get a load of this: In theaters, movies are actually shaped like a TV - and they block out the top and bottom of the film on the projector to make it widescreen. So when you're getting a pan-and-scan movie at home, you're only getting half of what they show at a theater, which is about 25% of the actual movie screen.

ha,ha.....whatever! :p
