I don't know what possessed me, I'd never thought about getting one before but my obsessive fan behaviour got the better of me and I got it done this morning so it's still only healing.

It's only a small one on my shoulder, and I gave the tattooist the Emancipation cd to copy the design so it's the exact same size as that.

I finally settled on black after pondering on purple for a while but I'm still not sure.

It was good fun as well coz the tattooist, who was 32 and looked nothing like the type you'd think would be into Prince, was raving about the Black Album and some of his live bootlegs.

He also said he'd bought sott FOUR times no less in the eighties coz the album was so big it kept snapping. Me being only 20 I don't think I've ever talked to a stranger so enthusiastically about Prince before so that was cool.

I wonder how many people in Dublin now have Prince tattoos, though I'd say I'm in a minority... any Irish orgers with P tattooes here?

NO, but I'm an aussie with a purple symbol tattooed on my ass!!
I used the cover form the Symbol album, and gave that to tattooist. Same size and all....

I got it on the morning of my 18th Bday.....im now 28

I'm doing the same thing next month! You most certainly are not crazy- just inspired like myself.

I have been thinking about either the symbol tattoo or the Lovesign tattoo (purple rain)

I must admit though, it is like a sign. I passed a woman in Denton Manchester and noticed the symbol tattoo on her arm. I nearly slammed the brakes on but didn't want to cause a crash. She was walking her daughter. You wouldn't know a prince fan if you passed them on the street but that stopped me in my tracks.

I wonder if she is on the org?

symbol tattoos are the scourge of da debble. the next person who says that they got a prince tattoo better come up with somethin original for a change. i'm bored with being the only one with tats that ain't of that symbol.

...pardon me, but symbol tats are one of my pet peeves about the fan community.

I used to wear badges when I was at school.

Then I grew up, and realised I didn't need a label, an idol or the need to show others that I felt I belonged to some form of group or gang. In fact, I prefered being individual rather than marked up like a sheep.

Some people have football team badges and names tattoos but it is ok to have a prince tattoo.

I see it that Prince has been a part of my life for nearly 20 years. A heck of a long time. I can't see anything wrong with having a tattoo of his symbol or something related to make that statement.
