DAYS OF WILD - A MOVIE IDEA Hello all, this is an idea I had for a Prince film that could ahve been made in 94/95. It's not particularly rewritten, just an idea. What do people think (be nice ) and do you have any ideas for films of your own?
The Days Of Wild Prince and his band play the encore to a concert and the crowd go wild [P Control, Endorphinmachine]. As they are leaving the venue they are warned by the management that the venue is being picketed by the Moral Majority. As the limo speeds off Prince witnesses his fans being harangued by the protestors and fights breaking out. After a rehearsal [Shhh] the band are chilling with the TV on and they see a talk show where the leader of the Moral Majority talking about the corruption music has on the kids and how it makes them violent as witnessed at the concert. Prince is incensed and calls his record company for a meeting. However, the record company are coming under increasing pressure from a politician who is looking like a favourite for getting into power. He wants the record company to drop artists like Prince who are considered dangerous as they send messages out to kids about being individuals and having their own minds. He points out to the record company that he would not be good to have as an enemy. The politician then meets with the leader of the Moral Majority and it turns out that his election campaign is being financed by the MM on the condition that if he gets elected he will make certain changes to the law that will restrict so called artisitic freedom! The MM influence the media into producing an increasing number of stories that paint an evil picture of rock music and those who play it corrupting the youth of the country. They begin printing and broadcasting lies about Prince and his wicked salacious ways. ON seeing this Prince and the band whip into another angry song [Billy Jack Bitch] At the meeting the record company try to pursuade Prince to change his music and cancel the remainder of his tour. Prince refuses saying he needs to be true to his artistry and won't let down his fans. The next concert is the day after the election. On election night the politician wins. Prince's artistic friends can't believe it and worry about how they will be censored in the future. Prince tells them he will not be told what to do and will fight the system. The next day the politician changes a number of laws forbidding the performance of certain types of music that may be considered to corrupt. At the concert the audience is infiltrated by Moral Majority agent provocateurs who begin stirring up the audience. The venue is also filled with Police and Prince is warned not to perform certain songs. However, Prince and the band launch into their opening song [Days Of Wild] whipping the crowd into a frenzy. The police try to storm the stage and a riot breaks out encouraged by the agent provocateurs. Things start to get violent and in the ensuing chaos a Prince lookalike fan gets shot in the face. Prince himself escapes from the venue unseen but the band are arrested. The dead man was wearing a matching outfit to Prince's and everyone believes he is dead! Mayte and the band are in shock and can't believe it, Mayte in particular can't accept that her man is dead [If Eye Love U 2Nite]. They are kept in jail for several days before being allowed out on bail subject to not performing the banned songs [Count The Days]. They are told by a representative of the politician that if they go on a TV show with the politican and renounce their previous employer Prince and his music, then they will be allowed to continue in their profession. They want to tell him where to go but say they will think about it. In the meantime Prince can't return home as his house is being watched. At first Prince can't understand why he has been targetted in particular for his music [Dolphin]. He takes refuge in the streets with the homeless and poor and begins to realise the poverty in the city. It angers him that the politician is so caught up in banning "corrupting music" while ignoring the real issues. He also realises that the politician and his moral majority supporters are all wealthy and don't care, doing nothing to help the poor. Prince then witnesses the politician talking with the leader of the MM and on seeing money exchanging hands realises the corruption that is taking place. He vows to do something about it [Shy]. He decides to try and contact the band who are being watched by MM staff. He decides to use a graffiti image that only they will understand the significance of, the symbol. He paints it outside a bar where the band are drowning their sorrows. They see it but also know they are being watched so don't do anything. Then the next time they are together they see the symbol again, then another further along the street. They begin following the symbols but have to stop because they are being followed. The band excitedly go to see Mayte to tell her they think Prince is alive. She doesn't believe it even though she wants to. That night Prince watches her sleep from the rooftop across the road and Mayte dreams that she hears him singing [The Most Beautiful Girl In The World]. The next day she contacts the band and says she thinks they are right and that the next time they see the symbols they need to lose the MM people and follow the symbols. They don't have to wait for too long. They manage to lose the MM tail and after following a convuluted route find themselves in an old theatre. At first they think they are alone and that it was a waist of time then they notice a tramp in the seats. They ask him if they have seen Prince. He replies that his name is Tora Tora. As they approach him they realise the tramp is actually Prince in disguise. They are all so happy, especially Mayte who falls into his arms. Prince tells them what he knows and how they need to get the evidence so they can expose the politician as being corrupt. Prince tells the band that people need to [Get Wild]. The band then remember the offer of appearing on a TV show. Prince sees this as the opportunity they need. The band contact the politician's man and agree to meet. At the meeting they tell him that they will do as he says as they want to continue playing music. They give him a tape of the songs they want to play and on first listen he agrees these will do just fine. A disguised Prince then follows the man back to his own meeting with the Politician and the leader of the Moral Majority. More money exchanges hands and they boast about what they have achieved and what is next in their fight to increase censorship of all artists. Prince records it all on a video camera. The band contact their tour roadcrew and get them to meet at the old theatre. Once there Prince shows them all the tape and then reveals a plan. The roadcrew guys are on board. The night of the TV show the band deliberately turn up late to make security need to fast track them into the studio. Prince slips by in disguise as Tora Tora the new singer. The show is a live tabloid show and already on the air. The politician is being interviewed and spinning his ies about the corruption threat posed by music and using Prince as an example of what happens to people who are evil. The show presenter then announces that Prince's former band mates are going to be performing a couple of new songs that represent how people can change their approach, the politician agrees. The band will then be interviewed. They start playing with Tora Tora playing guitar in the background [In Your Gracious Name]. Then at a given signal the roadcrew seize control of the production booth allowing them to keep the show on air. The band switch into a protest song [The Exodus Has Begun]. The leader of the MM is in the audience. He screams at the policitician to stop what is happening but he is powerless. At the end of the song Tora Tora removes his disguise to reveal it is a very much alive Prince! They then cue the video tape showing the corruption evidence. The MM leader and Politician are shocked but it is too late as millions of people have seen this on television. They try to make their escape but are caught, their ranting and threats are all broadcast live and their respective careers are definitely going to be over. Prince has been triumphant. The presenter and his producer can't believe their luck, what an exclusive. People are glued to their TVs. They suggest that the resurrected Prince plays another song. He and the band begin [Gold] and the credits roll. The End 'I loved him then, I love him now and will love him eternally. He's with our son now.' Mayte 21st April 2016 = the saddest quote I have ever read! RIP Prince and thanks for everything.

I like it. I think it's good. It has a lot of potential. THere are a couple of holes. First, even if this guy got elected it would take a long time to implement any new laws. THe immediacy of Prince being in trouble is not very believable. Also, how did prince film the transaction without being scene. YOu should rework that idea...I like how you use the songs with the plot. They go together in that sequence very well...YOu should write it as a short story, or a screenplay

Thanks for the feedback. I know there's some holes but these could be ironed out with further development. It's just for fun of course 'cause a) the time has long passed and b) Prince would do his thing not my thing! 'I loved him then, I love him now and will love him eternally. He's with our son now.'
